Hello from new owner
Picked up my Artic white 4matic a couple of days ago. It replaces a 2008 Subaru Impreza. We live in the Rockies and my wife drives into Denver 2x a week all winter so I wanted to give her something a bit safer/bigger.
I swear I just went to the dealer to "look". I knew the trade value of the Impreza was between $8.5 (dealer trade in) to $11.5 (dealer retail). The dealer gave me $11.5 for the trade and invoice + $500 for the GLK, so I grabbed it. Aparently there is good demand for used 4wd Subarus in Denver.
The options on our GLK are a bit strange, but we wanted a trailer hitch. Seems there just arent that many cars with hitches so our choices were limited. This one has a few a la carte options and no packages at all: the moonroof, iPod kit, heated seats, tralier hitch.
Love the handling/feel. More cargo space than the Impreza. The 9 year old is already moaning about the rear seats. If he grows, he will learn to hate sitting back there. My plan is to stop feeding him (problem solved!)

Congrats on the new GLK. The back seats are smaller than other SUV's but I tend to drive alone or just with the spouse most of the time. The back seat folded down does offer lots of room for trips however.

Welcome.
Another thing to consider, after you talk it over with your son, is to trade him in for two fours. They will fit back there just fine/Buy them a portable DVD with headphones, and you will never hear a peep from them.........

OK, RedRover... I got a price from some Portuguese slave traders. The 9 year old has blue eyes so he will fetch a good price. I may be able to trade him even for 2 brown-eyed 4 year olds. I will be sure to talk it over with him before I make a deal.
