Probably sometime in the late summer/fall. Around September when they start to have their year end lot clearances before the next years' models start rolling in.

I test drove a GLK last Saturday and got a run down of the differences (at least in Canada) between 2010 and 2011.

First, if I ordered a GLK now for production, it would be a 2011 production model.

2011 comes with
a standard black headliner
AMG package available (new to Canada)
pano sunroof now part of premium pack - not sure if available as a stand alone option

no diesel option
no engine upgrade yet
i don't think the LED DRL were standard

There were some other differences but they were very minor.

As JamesB said, if you order them now, they will arrive as 2011 model. I ordered mine 3-4 weeks ago. LED DRL was an option, not standard, and I saw the black headliner as an option, but you had to get I think beige MB Tex or Beige leather. I was trying to do black headliner with black interior and it wouldn't allow it. So I'm guessing for the US model that the black headliner is not the case, but I don't know for sure.

Also, it looked like the lighting package did not have LED tail lamps, nor was it in an option. So I would guess that they may be standard??? Only speculating..

Like stated above, you can order your 2011 now. They look to have changed a few things, but contact your local dealer for specifics.

Well, my Mercedes dealer will not take my order now. He said that the pricing was not out yet. I live in Massachusetts.

Thanks

Viggie, it is correct that they do not have pricing on it yet. I negotiated a % off of msrp and that % will be applied to the new msrp.

In my experience, everyone would order for me, but one wouldn't give any discount, some 3% and others more when dealerships compared to each other.

Thanks Shak59. When did say your GLK would come in? Would you mind sharing the % off of msrp and the area of the country you are?

Thanks

A major change will be the engine. It will still be a 3.5 V6, but will have a direct injection fuel system and will be 24% more fuel efficient while producing 298.5 hp and 272.75 tq.. This is just a quick example of what it will be from what I read in a press release. The motor will be the bottom of the line MB offering as all other motors are scheduled to be twin turbo.

Hmm. interesting, do you have a link to the press release. I have been searching almost daily for any info on the 2011 GLK.

Mine should arrive around mid-July. Some dealerships wouldn't offer any discount at all, others 3%, finally with 3% I shopped dealerships against each other and ended up on 5.75%. I live in Texas.

2011 GKL
Hello Everyone,

I am new to the site, although, I read all that time. For all of you who are looking for the 2011 GLK, they go into production this month. I ordered mine (4MATIC, Black Leather, Premium 1, and Multimedia) 3 Weeks ago. It will be delivered the first week of July, they start building it on June 14, 2010. Regarding pricing, they didnt' have any prices, but you figure a couple hundred more than the 2010 model.

As for my price I negotiated $300 over DEALER INVOICE. If you start negoitating from MSRP, you are already paying too much. THe MSRP is marked up 20%. You want to pay what the dealer paid for the car. When I finished my deal, I didn't even pay 1% profit. Come on, $300 over invoice --- that's a steal.

I've been looking at this truck since they arrived last year. Hopefully, with the 2011 version, they have addressed some of the issues that came up the most with the 2010 model (leg room in the back seat, gas mileage, gear shift location,), other than that its gotten rave reviews so far. So we will see....

Firstlady I am sure that you got a good deal but are you saying you are getting a 40,000 dollar car for 32,300?

Lol, no Vapor... the invoice on the 2011 GLK with the options will be about 42, 000 but the MSRP is about 47,000... so I got it for 42,300.... give or take... whatever the invoice is + $300.... I immediately asked to see the Dealer Invoice ... although when I walked in they tried to start negotiating off the MSRP.. but I've researched enough to know that you start neg at the Dealers Invoice up --- not the MSRP down... I learned so much on this site.. www.carbuyintips.com ---- i will never buy another car uneducated.. (read the chapter on new car buying)

Firstlady let me try and understand. Your deal. The MSRP is 45725 and the invoice is 42587. That is not even close to 20% off MSRP but it is a good deal. You can get 300 below invoice if you push. The reason I mention the 20% is it sets people up to fail when negotiating. I know for a fact you can get 10% off. I just want everyone to have a fighting chance and realistic expectations when they go in.

My 20% statement wasn't meant literally... I meant it to say that the MSRP is marked up what I consider "considerablly" more than $4000 ... please NO ONE take my numbers as concrete.. I'm just giving an example of the difference between the two... and if you don't know and you begin with the MSRP then, you don't get the best deal....however, the MSRP should be about 45,725 and the Invoice about 41,712 based on 2010 GLK... of course that will change a little with the 2011

DISCLAIMER******* Please use these examples for demonstration purposes only. Each shopper should do their own research and attempt to find the best deal for their situation. Some would say, hell with the Dealer Invoice and pay sticker, just not me....

Ah I see. Like I said if you are willing to work you can get between 9 and 10 percent off MSRP.

With the options I ordered, the 2010 pricing comes out to $37,105 (lighting and step rails). Invoice according to Edmunds for that configuration is $34,569. If you take 5.75% off of $37,105 you end up with $34,971 which is $402 above invoice, on that front I think I fared pretty well (contrary to what you are making it seem like).

On top of that I will get the Executive Allowance Bonus (EAB) discount of $1000 off after the negotiated price, which would result in $600 below invoice.

I too read that website and was aware of starting from the invoice price, but none of the 5 dealerships I talked to would do that since they didn't know the pricing for the 2011 model. So instead I had them compete for the % off msrp and the highest amount I ended up with was 5.75%.

All in all, if the buyer is happy with the price, then thats all that matters. I am still interested in knowing what changes will be in place for the 2011 model and the price of the LED DRL option.
