Kleemann also offers a tune for the 350. Did you look into Kleeman's?

Thumbs up RENNTECH UPDATE

I had to bring my GLK into Mercedes today for tire rotation and a door moulding problem, The loaner car they gave me was a stock GLK.. Driving this laoner I can sure see the difference in having the RennTech Computer upgrade... There is no doubt that the increase in HP and Torque does truly make a diffence,,,The loaner car just does not snap and respond as mine does with the RennTech work. I can see the difference in shifting and respone like day and night.

No they need the computer there, or I think it can be sent to them.

RENNTECH UPDATE

I had the car at renntech for a check-up, they advised me that they had a new program written which would cut the dead spot in the peddle and make the car accelerate faster from a deaqd stop, they also said that the peddle would be more sensitive and some people may not like it...I let them go ahead with the program... Now when you start the car and go to accelerate the car actually jumps out, also the shifting now is much firmer...I am trying to get use to it, the programmer said if it is too agressive he can tone it down..so far I like it...Next week they want me to let them know what my opinion of this new program. He did say there is just so much they can do with these 6 cylinders and this transmission..well I will play and enjoy it..I hope Rory is the guy I am dealing with there.

They measure true HP at the rear wheels noit at the Flywheel..They said most 350 engines usually are around 217 HP to the rear mine was 222.Torque at the rear went from 197 to 217 ft lbs. We went for a test drive and I felt it was a little more beefy but nothing to make me happy about the $1166.00 plus tax I paid for it. The limiter was removed and the car they said can do about 178 if I had enough room and time to do it ..According to Renntech i have to drive it around 150 miles for the changes to take full effect..I drove home on the Florida turnpike, 80 mph and it said 24.6 MPG,so he was right this went up,,I have to keep driving it to notice all the difference ,for the meantime it does feel a little stronger..PS they said I should get rid of the K&N's because the oil on the filters could clog up the electronics, or just take the oil off!!
Did they give you print outs of the dyno run graphs? If so (they should have) can you scan and post the before and after? It would be very interesting to also see the shape of the curves.

Exactly!

When I feel like putting my insurance rates at risk I take out my G37 Coupe.

Most of the time I take the GLK...

The oil consumption is probably due to the final seating of the rings, valves, etc. The factory says new engines come all broken in but GLKs are famous for improving mileage with a few miles so I have to think there is still some break-in taking place.

I doubt you will have sludge on a new car; maybe some metal, tho...

5K is probaly OK for the first oil change; I'm doing mine at 3.5K just to be sure.

Thumbs up Did you notice a MPG increase over all?

How is the MPG overall with the upgrade, how many miles does it goes for a full tank?
In my GLK i do about 310~320 miles per full tank depends on mid-grade or high octane gas. If the ECU upgrade increases this i'm definitely going to buy it. And also when I go about 80miles the consumption is about 19-20mpg. I appreciate your response. Thank you.

ECU UPGRADE

I average around 310-325 miles to a tank-full... You have to use "Hi-Test" at all times... the ecu is set for this...On the over-all I enjoy the extra HP in my GLK..I do see a difference between driving mine and the loaner they give me when I am in for service issues.I tend to drive a lot in shifting mode and this becomes a gas burning issue. It was worth it o have the extra horse power.

I don't quite understand what do you mean by Hi-Test? Driving hard most of the times? I am looking for the power but decreasing the gas consumption. If the savings that I will make in gas will pay overtime the investment then I will go ahead and do it. It sounds a lot of fun having ecu on.

[/quote] Stick with what you have The up-grades do not give better mileage..just makes the GLK more fun to drive.

So check this out, I switched from C to S mode and *BAM*, instant supremo horse power! The car feels omg faster and torques like a boss now. I have to break much sooner coming to red lights since I'm going so fast. Do you know the film Too Fast Too Furious? Well, I'm faster than Vin! I now pass Escorts and Priuses left and right in rush hour. Not only that, I plotted the numbers in Excel and *POW*, the graph is green on one side and red on the other. Awesome huh?!? You guys should totally do this upgrade. You know what my next project is? I'm going to take the user manual from the glove compartment and leave it at home! How crazy is that?!? Wait for my green/red chart coming up!

-bored at work so don't take it personally, but yes I'm making fun of you GLK ricers.

who is the best tuner for AMG's ECU uprades? what use is all this power if the transmission and gear ratio can't keep up with the force feeding?

alot has to be said about porsche and V6 engines and how its 450-500+ HP V6 engine can hit 0-100km in ~3.1 seconds and low 11 sec 1/4 miles. (is it all in the gear ratios and software).
