i don't know much about miles, but i rotated at 30000km. Its a front to back rotation, the tires are directional.

I will do the A service at 5000 km instead of the 10000km for the first time.
Then, it will be every year as per the manual said.

Recommended tire rotation interval for the GLK-Class is according to the MB Maintenance Booklet 5,000 miles, with a note regarding vehicles equipped with staggered front/rear tire sizes.

Required service including engine - oil and filter change, is 10,000 miles or 1 year, whichever occurs first.

And there is a note: "Please note any maintenance work not peformed or not performed at the specified interval which results in the failure of the warranted component(s) or system(s) in question may not be covered by the Mercedes-Benz New Vehicle Limited Warranty".

first tire rotation is free at 5k miles, I did mine myself tho. Pretty easy, and I cleaned the rims while they are off the car.

Tire rotation every 3-4000 miles. As far as oil, please read my post on this thread.

Mobil 1 5W40

I stopped by my dealer today to pick up a quart of oiul to keep in the car for emergencies, they sold me MOBIL 1 5W40 and I did not see anything with the letter "M" on it??? The dealer said this is what they use for the oil changes for this car..so I would assume that this is the right oil..He did say that 5W40 is hard to find in regular auto parts stores.

..... if you wish to talk about oil rather than tire rotation, then here's a real simplified explanation... your dealer may be in the dark about it and may not know the difference either! The oil MUST conform to the MB-229.5 specification. The correct viscosity and type used by the factory in our GLK is Mobil-1 Formula-M 5w-40. This oil must be used year round.

Here, contact Mobil and ask them to confirm if the oil you bought from the dealer conforms to the 229.5 spec. They may have updated the formula... and please let us know. Make sure you have the qt. bottle with you when you call them: http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...ontact_Us.aspx

WARNING: Please do not confuse this oil with Mobil-1 ESP Formula-M 5w-40. They sound alike but they are NOT THE SAME. ESP is for diesel engines ONLY! Also, please DO NOT GET the “over the counter” straight Mobil-1 5w-40 either. This oil does not meet the strict Mercedes Benz 229.5 spec.

Nitrogen

Ask your MB service to replace the air in your tires with nitrogen. This is larger molicule than air and last longer. This is what they use in race car.It dont build heat. Your tire will last longer and it is environment friendly.HAPPY MOTORING!

MY Mistake..sorryt the quart of Oil says 5W40 with an "M" on it I just did not really see the "M" on it..thx for your help....

So do you agree to change the oil at 5000-6000m miles and rotate every oil change even if it is 6000 miles???

You rotate your oil and change your tires at 6000 miles? It's okay we all had a long day!

I Can't rotate mine as I have the 20 inch wheels which have different size tires front to rear, so all I could do is swap left to right, but I think the tires are uni-directional. Happy to be corrected, but I am 90% sure I am right. I have to leave the bar and walk home to find out, and for 10% it ain't worth it.
All I know is that the damn things get covered in brake dust every 5 mins and ruin the great look, and rejex, in my opinion.... does not work. I bought 2 bottles of that too...time for another beer.

Tires & Rotating

I also have 20 inch Pirelli SZcorpions on AMG Wheels and the fronts are the same size as the rear???? Also as far as Rejex goes if you coat the inside and the outside with Rejex..it makes it much easier to hose the wheels off with a power hose...Also apply the Rejex to the whole car....fantastic shine and bugs do not stick to it in Florida

You are right. Same size all round. I read somewhere in one of the electronic manuals that they were / used to be / in another country slightly different sizes. Maybe in the winter tires section.
As for rejex, sorry, but it does not a thing for making the wheels easier to clean. Tried on a few cars and missed others, and I really dont notice any difference at all.

tires are directional so no rotation for you, but are you in UK or Canada? I didn't think Canadian models come with staggered sets.

EDIT: didn't see your second post. BTW, Europe has staggered set up.

Canada, and I too thought they were staggered, but they are all 235's.
GLK is not available in the uk yet. Not sure why, right hand drive perhaps, but they do the C there.

European packages "Offroad" and "Sport" are fitted with staggered front - rear wheels, in accordance with MB specifications as per the attachment in thread:
https://mbworld.org/forums/glk-class...-new-baby.html.
May as well be ordred as option to "basic" version. Some "basic" GLKs were last summer even delivered "staggered", without owners had requested it, causing problems for them who wanted to perform tyre rotation. Explanation for it was: "Supply of of 7.5 J rims for the 17" wheels did not match the production of the GLKs".

Direction of rotation is marked by an arrow on the sidewall of the tyre, or by in printing "Outside" or "Inside".
