Anyone who has their 2011 on order and expecting to receive them soon have any news on when MB will release it?

I wonder how long MB will wait with them in the US before they release...

I was interested in financing through this credit union who has promotion rates of:
1.49% is for 24 months and a 2009 or newer car
1.99% is for 48 months and a 2001 or newer car
2.49% is for 60 months and a 2001 or newer car

http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthr...1314&t=2080936

But you have to apply by midnight 6/23 (today) and have to close on the loan by 6/30 which is where I would like to know when my vehicle will get released!

2010 GLK 350 Sandstone Beige
I found this info at cars.com.

New for 2011
A knee airbag is new for the GLK350's second season. A telematics system called "mbrace" is a new option that does tricks such as locating the vehicle in a parking lot or remotely locking and unlocking doors using a smartphone. A new AMG Sport Package includes AMG bumpers and 20-inch twin five-spoke wheels, LED daytime running lights and aluminum roof rails.

I also found this at trucktrend.com. It seems that my color (sandstone beige) is only around for 1 year and will be replaced by pearl beige which exists on the C and E class.

Thank you for the info wired!

Also, any word on the engine improvement expected to offer gains of up to 24% better mileage? This was mentioned in a few other places as a possible update/upgrade for 2011 models.

Thanks again!

New 2011 GLK will be released this month July. The car will not change much, but there are some really interesting updates. You can see all the changes in details here: 2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class upcoming changes and updates. Since the car will not change much, MB Financial may come out with some financial specials immediately...

In reading all the info on the 2011 it seems the rearview camera will be standard as a safety feature.

I wouldn't mind having the rearview camera standard, unless they bump up the msrp because of it, then I wouldn't want it. But to think MB is making it standard because of safety reasons I think is a stretch. Then they would implement it on all MB models I would assume.

I guess we will find out soon. Firstlady, any word on taking delivery of your GLK, first week of July is upon us.

As found on the Benz Only website:

What's new for 2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class? Since the premiere of the brand new 2010 model year GLK Class, back in 2008, Mercedes-Benz is finally replacing it with the new 2011 model year in the July 2010. Sounds confusing? Here is clarification: Research, development and testing of the compact SUV were finished a lot earlier than expected by Daimler AG and they pushed GLK for sale in early 2008, but model year remained to be 2010 to keep their books intact, so 2010 model year GLK ended up with a long run. Anyone who is looking to purchase a pre-owned GLK needs to check the original Date of Sale, because even if the VIN number tells you that this is the 2010 model year, you could easily end up buying a 2 year old vehicle!

New features and updates:

Both: GLK350 (Rear-Wheel-Drive) and GLK350 4MATIC (All-Wheel-Drive) continue to boast 268 Horsepower and 258 lb-ft of Torque. 2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class enhancements consist of the new and more users friendly Headlight Control Switch and Premium Leather Steering Wheel. 2011 GLK has also improvements in the Safety technology. New Knee Airbag, Driver/Passenger Pelvic Airbags and new Rear View Camera are added to the new model year - to stay in the mainstream of other Mercedes models safety standards. The final enhancement to the new GLK is the available new paint: Pearl Beige Metallic. This paint will be limited in production and may have extra charge, but if you like it - it may worth it!

yeah I did read that, I guess when I've read these documents and articles, they don't specify the new available things as standard or extra, but in that paragraph they do say the paint is probably extra. Interesting.... I just don't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed.

Does anyone know if the LED DRL are part of the lighting package or optional? From the Canada pdf it seems like its not part of the lighting package. When I ordered, it was a separate option, but I thought it would make sense to be part of the lighting package, and I feel like I've read somehwere that it is part of the lighting package.

And from US News Automotive:

Mercedes-Benz GLK - What the Auto Press Says

The GLK-Class, the first compact SUV from Mercedes, boasts excellent driving dynamics and upscale style. However, in a highly competitive class, its small back seat and middle-of-the-pack fuel economy are disappointing.
Since its first appearance as Samantha’s ride of choice in the Sex and the City movie two years ago, the Mercedes GLK has oozed style. Its excellent driving dynamics and trendy look make it a standout in its class. The GLK's base price is also quite low considering that it's a Benz -- but along with its fuel economy, the price is only about average for its class. Plus, its interior quality disappoints reviewers because it isn't up to the usual Mercedes standard.
"The GLK's base prices are competitive, but options can quickly raise the bottom line,” says Consumer Guide. “Still, this likeable 4-door wagon should appeal to buyers seeking brand prestige in a smaller SUV."
After its introduction as a 2010 model, the GLK-Class sees only minor changes for 2011. Unfortunately, its middle-of-the-pack base fuel economy is expected to remain the same, at 16/22 mpg city/highway.
Other SUVs to Consider

The GLK's main draws are the Mercedes prestige, its especially smooth ride, and its relative affordability. Its chief rival, the sporty BMW X3, offers only marginally better fuel economy and is also the most expensive luxury compact SUV -- its base price is several thousand dollars more than the GLK's. If you want a more affordable option than the GLK, consider the Acura RDX. It starts at about $2,000 less and has the best fuel economy rating in the class. It even has more cargo space than the GLK.
To save even more money, look at the Volkswagen Tiguan, a particularly upscale affordable compact SUV. Though the base model doesn’t have the luxury features and materials of the GLK, it starts at $11,000 less and has similarly sporty handling. You can even equip the Tiguan like a luxury vehicle and still save money -- the Tiguan’s high-end SEL trim starts at about $3,000 less than the base GLK. Best of all, at 19/26 mpg city/highway, the Tiguan has an even better fuel economy rating than both the GLK and RDX.
Details: 2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK

Updates for 2011 include a new headlight control switch, a premium leather steering wheel, a driver’s knee airbag, driver/passenger pelvic airbags, and a standard rearview camera. In addition to its new standard features, the GLK gets a new option -- the AMG Sport Package, which comes with AMG bumpers, LED daytime running lights, aluminum roof rails and 20-inch AMG five-twin-spoke wheels. A new paint option, Pearl Beige, is also available.
The GLK comes in one trim, the GLK 350, with optional 4Matic all-wheel drive

That is a pretty convincing statement right there. I saw a link the other day about 2011 pricing, wasn't sure how accurate it was, it was about $900 more than 2010 base price, let me see if I can find it.

It seems to be only a $900 increase which isn't bad for the new features. More dollars to negotiate down from the MSRP.
