It seems like they used many different kinds of brand tires on the 2010 models. I would like if I order the 2011 be able to choice the brand I like.

People in hell want ice water, too.

"Maybe" you can talk the dealer into swapping tires after the car is delivered.......

2011 GKL
I visited the dealer yesterday, after selling my car on Wednesday,... they said oh, "we thought you'd have it the first week, but the 15th is the release date..." He showed me on his computer where my car would be on the ship on the 9th, to the dealer by the 15th.... no pricing yet... however, we had already agreed on Invoice = $300... so I'm holding them to that...

Although, now, I'm thinking about leasing under my business... Im unsure, initially I was purchasing... I've been researching about leasing, but with the money down that they are asking for, I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and finance? Any input or experiences would be helpful... THX

with such low interest rates and ivoice pricing i don't think it makes sense to lease. It's pretty simple math. Lease payment times number of month plus any upfront: that's how much you'll shell out and have nothing at the end of the lease. If you buy: monthly payment times number of month plus downpayment is your total cost (including interest), but you'll have the car at the end with some value. The triky part is how long do you pland to keep the car? If it's 3 years or so and you'll trade it in, it prolly doesn't matter if you lease or own. Except you can always sell, while getting out of lease is more tricky. But if you plan to keep the car for the lengh of the loan or even longer of course financing is better.

I talked to my dealer yesterday, and he said that my car was built but that Mercedes wouldn't release it until later this month. He also gave me the pricing for everything, including MSRP.

Just got back from Germany where I was driving my new 2011 GLK 350 (european delivery program) for two weeks (1700km)! The car performs great regardless a type of road: autobahn ( I was afraid to push it more then 130 mph - new car's brake in period), Alpine's and Black Forest's windy roads. It responsive, fast, very smooth and quiet, and very maneuverable (tested it in the medieval German town Rothenburg ob der Tauber and old Salzburg in Austria). It was such a fun and pleasure! I am already missing my "Gelik": it takes about 4 to 6 weeks to get it to USA. The great vehicle and a great program (EDP)!

Sounds like an awesome experience, and one that we may very well do next M-B purchase.

Congrats!

If you order optional 20" wheels you may also need to get new tires and could do so from Tire Rack or elsewhere.

Our car came with the appearance package which includes 20" wheels and tires. So we just had the tires swapped to the new wheels. If our car didn't have the appearance package then the wheels are smaller and so would not have fit.

The tires are great - love the Pirelli Scorpion Zeros on the GLK.

Getting the appearance package is a very good deal if you are going this route - it is something like $975. I sold the wheels from that on eBay for $800, so the tires and silver roof rails only ended up costing me $175. A single one of those tires is a lot more than that.

Not sure if they are still using those on the 2011s, but often the factory will work with the tire manufacturer to develop or at least specify a particular tire for a new model, and in subsequent years stick with newer models of the tire as it develops. (Unless the contracts change.)

Posted in my other thread already, but I've driven my 2011 GLK for about 2 days now and I still feel overwhelmed by all the functions and features. Car drives like a dream and the pickup feels great. Compared to the X3 I tried during a test drive, the steering on the GLK isn't as stiff, but it is by no means a slouch and handles perfectly.

Very happy with my purchase/choice. Now I'm just trying to get over thinking whether or not I should have waited 3 months more for Keyless go and the Rearview cam

2013 Infiniti G37 Coupe; 2011 GLK 350 w/ Premium 1, Multimedia & Sport Appearance; I LOVE IT!
I've had my 2011 for about 3 weeks now.

Love the rear camera, not interested in keyless (not for $1100! )

I am so anxious to get my GLK from Germany! They said that it will take 5-7 weeks to get it and start to drive it again...
