Anybody debadged?

Was wondering if anybody took down GLK350 and/or 4matic in the back. Are there holes, don't think so? Pics would be appreciated.

no holes, all chrome trim on the glk is tape. even bumper and door trim. the only one with holes is the star.

i am planning on debadging and removing all chrome in the near future.

i don't like it when washing/waxing, plus I always prefer cleaner look. Those who've done it, what did you do? Hair dryer/goo gone/and a string? Prolly won't need hair dryer, it's 90-100, will just park in sun haha

If you spent the time washing and waxing the entire car ,you should be able to clean those badges its not that hard. This is an MB not a toyota

not sure what's the point of debadging a MB?
maybe on a Hyundai or a LADA or a YUGO etc...
my 2 cents...

To me it seems like those "newer" Mercedes Benz owners are the ones degrading the overall image by messing up a perfectly good creation! What exactly is the point of debadging a vehicle in the first place? I mean come on you bought a freaking Mercedes not a BMW that loses the paint in it's symbol after a few years! Learn the true meaning of owning a Mercedes Benz instead of debadging what it always stood for and always will! Remember a BMW is not a Mercedes even on its best day!

Nobody is talking about debadging the Mercedes emblem. So we don't know the meaning of an MB because we don't have the model in the back of the car reminding us??? You know what model you have, is it really that important that everybody see what model it is? 98% of people don't know the difference between a 350 and a 550, but those in the know could tell with or without badges.

Plenty of people could argue you are messing up the image keeping the badges on.

IMO debadging gives the rear a very clean look. But that's just me.

Well since you're leaving the star on I don't think it's too bad, but I saw a few Benz owners that actually removed that as well.

That's ridiculous. I agree 100%, they should be stripped of their MB's

Window dressing

Most people want to add all kinds of accessories so it doesn't surprise me that some would want to remove some. Less is more?

Oo please...with the degrading MB value. MB degraded its value itself by having 35k GLK and C class. It's just a car that some (including myself) chose among others. I liked the look, price, options and the way it drives. I don't care if it was a toyota, bimmer, vw or Infiniti. I was actually very skeptical buying MB due to crappy realibility that recent MBs had.

Also, ppl debadge their SL and CL 63s. Some just like the cleaner look.

Or maybe they want it to be something that it isn't. It's a GLK not a GL or ML. I like my GLK and I want everyone to know what it is!!!!

Like I said above, people in the know could tell the difference either way. The people who can't don't care anyway

i like debadging when the vehicle is blacked out. i'll also admit, it is somewhat of a pain in the *** to clean in between the glk350 and 4matic letters.
but look at the new hyundai genesis, it has no emblem, so people don't know it's a hyundai? OEM debadged from the factory.

Porsche has an option to get car debadged from factory.

I'm gonna do photoshop and see how GLK looks.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
I've thought about de-badging my CL as well, but I wanted to photoshop it first and see what it would look like.

As such, I haven't had the time to do it. I suck at tEh photoshop, so it would probably take me 2 hours just to figure out how to select a brush. :/

If I do de-badge it, I don't know that I'll remove the fender badges. I always get a chuckle from seeing the look of passengers in cars that pass me on the highway. Most of them who see the fender badges do a double take at them once the "V12 BITURBO" badge registers in their heads.
One of these days though...

Now that is really clean.
