Unlocking front door only form inside GLK
Hello everyone, I have a quick question:
How do I open the front door without all the other doors getting unlocked?
I already did the selective unlock on my smart key(as instructed in manual) but every time I unlock the front door manually from the inside and open the front door ALL the doors still unlock. FYI: I do not have keyless go.
Please help! thanks!

Not sure why this is issue, but can't you just pull the inside handle to open the door even if it's locked? I can be wrong, as I never encountered a situation where I had to unlock drivers door from inside.
P.S. nice screen name

The issue i have is that when I open the front door ALL the doors become unlocked. I want to stop this from happening not sure how. I went through the owners manual and did the selective unlock on the smartkey but still all doors become unlocked. Thanks!!

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
I'd think it's a safety feature. You roll your car, emergency personnel only has to open one door and the other doors unlock themselves to save time getting to the passengers...

If you roll or otherwise crash your car, the doors unlock themselves immediately after the crash.

so every time i open the door all the doors will unlock even if i don't want them to? Is it just me or does that seem weird. I live in NYC not the most dangerous city but still have to be aware, so the fact that every time i want to get out of my car all the doors are unlocked (anyone can sneak up and open any of the passenger doors and jump in as I'm getting out) seem unsafe. Is there really no way to get around the total unlocking?

2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK
Hi!
Have you contacted your dealer? My friend has a 2010 C Class, which is basically the same as a GLK, respectfully. She wanted the same feature with a concern about all doors unlocking at night time.
Our dealer in Oklahoma City, OK was able to connect her car to the computer and adjust a setting. There are some features that can be changed, but you pay dearly for that to be dune unless you are going in for a normal service where they are already connecting your vehicle to the computer.
Also, please be aware that Mercedes-Benz tracks all adjustments made like this based on VIN #. Some people don't like that and some do not mind. Personal preference....

NYC is one of the safest cities in US and the world actually. You just have to know where not to go, just like anywhere else.
Lastly the most danger is when your own door is unlocked, that's when somebody can open your door and drag you out of the car. Nobody is gonna sneak into your car when you unlock the car to get out. It takes pro 2 seconds to open most of the cars without a key. So if somebody wanted to sneak into your car, they would just do so when you are not around.
Enjoy that car and don't be so paranoid.
