that's weird....wouldn't even think that tank would have seams. Good thing it's summer.

A little Crazy glue could be temporary quick fix. Actually PVC glue dabbed over the spot and allowed to dry will work.

you beat me to it. actually the pvc glue would work really good. there is a type that can be applied in wet conditions. i get it at home depot and lowes for irrigation system repairs. no need to drain the washer fluid.

In case you do not find the washer fluid reservoir leaking, note the section "Washer system and headlamp cleaning system" in the GLK Operator's Manual. There is a "i Helpful hints or further information you may find useful" reading: "Do not use distilled or deionized water in the washer fluid reservoir. Otherwise, the washer fluid level sensor could be damaged.

This statement is slightly twisted as the problem really is the conductivity of the fluid getting to low (like when the reservoir sensor is above the fluid level), thus leading to the washer fluid message in the Multifunction Display.

Did they say if this issue was common?

looks like i'm 2nd lucky guy. just found its leaking (pouring washer after topped it). at lease the leak is not in the bottom, still hold some washer beyond the sensor, so just need ti fix it before the winter.

Same here...just topped it off yesterday and about 2/3's full it started running out of the tank. I'll wait until I take it in for the next service and get it replaced then.

One (common) culprit to the washer fluid reservoir leaks could obviously be the area where the sensor is fitted. However not very likely in this case, as the Washer Fluid Warning goes on when the fluid level goes below 1.1 US qts, and the reservoir capacity is 6.3 US qt. It will be interesting to see what the finding is.

Mines leaking too. Just started a couple of days ago. Just drips every few
Seconds leaving a wet driveway. The car is going in tomorrow for the drivers door mirro noise, so I will highlight this also.

Well, these tanks will split wide open if the fluid lacks antifreeze during the winter months... otherwise it was most likely already faulty when it was installed and then got worse.

Just got my washer leak fixed today. Here is what they put on the invoice: Verified washer fluid leaking, leaking from the seal at heater element. re and re reservoir, replaced the seal at heater element.

But when these cars sit in the cold and the heater isn't operating, better use authentic MB washer fluid with antifreeze.... (PS Rain-X should be avoided at all costs.)

It's funny that the Rain-X give the MB's a problem. Use it in my wife's Lexus with no problems.

I think I have the same problem. The fluid on the ground looks like it is yellow so I was a little concerned that it might be brake fluid. I thought wiper fluid was blue...I have also read where it might be pink. Brake fluid is at the top and the amount on the ground is more than the brake reservoir would hold. It wan't sticky or sweet so it doesn't appear to be coolant. The wiper fluid container was empty so I couldn't tell what the fluid looked like. No warning light. I'll take it to the dealer.

Sorry to hear that, however do I believe it will be fixed as a warranty case.

The washer fluid reservoir leak is now a known issue with regard to the 2010 GLKs, and presumably fixed by a modification. Your case does look a little different, as you apparantly didn't get the Check washer fluid message on the display. Would you care to ask what the character of the leak was, if it isn't too late?

Anyone have handy step-by-step instructions on how to replace the reservoir? If it's a simply DIY job I'm willing to try.

Wondering if this is all I will need in terms of parts?

I would definitely try it, it is very simple to get to the reservoir, remove front left wheel, remove fender liner (two parts - front half closer to bumper and rear half closer to driver door)reservoir is behind the front part...be carefull when removing, rear is holding front one, so you need at least loose also rear part - plastic nut...the whole fender liner is mounted with plastic pins and nuts, easy to remove it...after removing liner, you have clear access to the reservoir...when removing reservoir, be carefull, there is sensor for liquid level on it and also water pump...I am not sure about sensor, but for the pump there's no screws, just pull it out...
And...at first, find out, which reservoir do you need to avoid fail purchase...and you should buy the new design of reservoir, its different shape..try to inform in official mercedes dealer...
..hope this helps, sorry for my english

First check if the leak is caused by the pump at the base of the reservoir, often that is culprit. I checked by removing the left wheel fender liner and poured water into the reservoir.
The pump is easy to remove, you just pull it upwards. Replace the pump and seal. You can buy both from Amazon
