Window Tinting / Privacy Glass

Window Tinting / Privacy Glass
Planning to tint the front & passenger windows on my GLK which comes with privacy glass at the rear. What percentage is recommended? I am hoping to match the privacy glass as much as possible, but somewhat staying within legal limits and not creating a dangerous driving situation.

BTW, if you want to cut down on heat transmission thru' the sunroof, use 5% there. Works great.

I wouldn't go as far as 20%, especially if you live in the burbs with lots of trees and very little street lights... hard to drive at night... otherwise if it's legal where you live then by all means do so.
However, as far as the sunroof goes... If your car has the panorama sunroof, DO NOT tint it. Read the owners manual. There is a special coating on the inside of the glass...but I forget what it's for at the moment. Check the OM first... besides, you could always activate the interior sunscreen.

2: Even with the sunshade closed the amount of heat coming thru' the sunroof is huge; at least in warm states. I've had the interior of the sunroof tinted with 5% now for 20 months without any issues; other than the interior is much cooler and there is less stress on the A/C.
