i was only able to find rainx brand that fits GLK, and they were 40 bux, I wish i just bought OEM from dealer for 50 as they would be better fit.

You should prolly repace wipers a lil more often than 10-12k as worn wipers can damage the windshield.

Thumbs up neoform wiper blades for M-B

You may want to take a look at the trico neoform beam wiper blades. They work excellent, are extremely quiet, look great and are the lowest-priced top-of-the-line aftermarket wiper blade available.

Just take the wiper arm and slide it up the windshield once it is near vertical you can move the arm away from the windshield to change the blades.

^ yea what he said, can just manually move it,

or as manual says turn wipers on and as they reach upright position shut the car off (turn key counter clockwise)

It's funny but wipers are always tricky and catch many ppl by surprise.

This process can scratch or leave curved trails if the wipers are allowed to run over a DRY windshield. Tip: First, lift wiper blades and wipe off any grit, then spray a little water mist on windshield to lube it before raising them, or second, place a small soft terri cloth under your blades BEFORE raising them to center.

There are many off brand blades. I got ours (Trico) over at COSTCO and they're working fantastic!

BTW, actually shopped over the weekend and bought a couple of pairs as well as a couple of rear blades (what a pain to find) online... Got the neoforms for $8.38 a piece after free shipping and rebate...normally $15-$23 each.

Also...I agree with MBRedux...you can scratch the glass believe it or not. Don't let this scare you though...wipers are very simple to change...only takes me maybe a minute per blade.

I wish this thread came up ealier, could not find anything for GLK for some reason. I paid 45 bux for rainx blades (only brand that fit in the store) and not impressed at all. I remember bosch being MUCH better on my toyota.

How do you recommend cleaning the windshield besides windex. I feel like there is always this film left from windex....maybe i'm doing something wrong.

my GLK has had noisy wipers from day 1. Many of you know this is my first MB as i've always owned Acura's in the past. I just wanted to make sure i understanding correctly, you can NOT change just the rubber piece like Acuras and must change the entire wiper? cause OEM rubbre refills for Acura's are $11 a pair, lol. I just get those changed out once a year during service but I do'nt want to spend $60 for OEM MB one's if they suck anyways.

Most Rain-X products suck overall. Bosch is much better. Trico works fine!

Windex has all kinds of dyes, fragrances, ammonias, etc. These chemicals are okay in most applications, but have a tendency to leave small traces of residue. They also can pull the chemicals (left over softeners, detergents, etc) right out of the rag/cloth/towel you're using to clean your auto glass, and thus another source for residue. Interior treatments such as leather cleaners and moisturizers, Armor-All vinyl and dash treatments etc., (not to mention cigar/cigarette smoke) also evaporate and leave heavy amounts of residue (foggy film) on the glass.

I would not use glass wax either. This is by far the Best Glass Cleaner on the market. It can only be purchased at Bed-Bath&Beyond or online.

Or you can simply use pure Rubbing Alcohol (90% pure) on a soft clean bunch of paper towels to go over the Windex'd panels that were just done. (Don't over soak it.) Then buff again quickly with a clean white terri-cloth towel as the alcohol is evaporating until all the smudges/streaks are gone.

Just bought the Trico neoform blades for mine and my wife's car. $25.00 a pair, no shipping on Amazon and a $15 rebate from Trico. $5 BUCKS A BLADE! Hope they work out well.

It is the second time that the Trico is suggested. Can I know if these wipers are really good looking?

Very tricky...it asked me to buy $.02 more worth of items to get the free shipping...which means you have to buy something else and they don't sell anything else for $.02. Pain in the neck to search for the other wiper too. I'll stick with my regular place but thanks for the info. Wipers work great though.

They look similar to most beam blade wipers. I do think that the arm sits slightly lower on these and the attachment area is more sleek looking than on some of the other brands.

Probably won't know till spring but I'll be curious to see if the profile of the wiper blade will change the problem of dragging water across the windshield at highway speeds. And Jeff you are right .02 cents is a problem but I solved that and bought blades for my wifes car. Hers were due also. Like I said after the rebate for $5 a blade how could you go wrong.

The neoforms do rock though...I'll give you that. First couple of wisconsin snow storms that included quite a lot of rain and slush...worked great and quiet as a mouse.

The Trico Neoforms fit perfectly and are a lot quieter than the OEM's. I changed out the OEM's after 14 months and will get another pair for next year.

Yeah, that Teflon coating actually does do something to keep them smoother and quiet. I thought it was marketing jargon but it really does work.
