I imagine these extend warranties run concurrently; but the wording makes it sound as if it adds onto. I mean, the maximum MB extended warranty is 84/125K. If it added onto the original warranty, it would be a warranty of 12 yrs 175 thousand miles; an unlikely situation.
Also, the example above about the scenario when someone drives a lot and then changes their routine and doesn't drive a lot, so the extended 3 years is a waste. That example is perhaps not representative of the average.

Well, we ended up with the Mercedes Benz 7/100,000 extended warranty for "peace of mind" considering our prior bad experiences with a different German car. I called lots of dealers and got over $1100 off the very high msrp for the warrenty. So we are happy. Since it is our first Mercedes, we may be pleasently surprised. If we get to the 45K mile range and have no issues, we are thinking we can cancel for a full refund.

Assuming we can give names. I got mine from Jeff Jackson from Tafel Motors in Kentucky over the phone. Nice guy and real easy to deal with.
There were a few others who I contacted that came at the same pricing but they would never respond after the initial quote.
