Newbie, Questions and Comments
and took delivery on December 30th, so far the GLK is amazing, the ride just doesn’t compare to what I was driving before. Followed MBRedux advice
Questions:
Not that I mind but the sound level of the seat belt alarm is very low, is this what other 2011 owners have noticed, I read in previous threads about the 2010s being very loud? Maybe MB made the change?
Memory function, I was expecting this to work with my “smartkey/FOB”, once the memory settings saved with my FOB I would be able to unlock the doors and the memory function would execute and position my seat, ext. mirrors, steering wheel and headrest before getting in the car, but I guess it doesn’t work this way, you have to open the door press/hold your number until everything is positioned, I’m 6’2” and my wife 5’4” so big difference in the driving position. Is there something I’m not doing right??
Warning indicators: the door/tailgate open indicators only appear if I’m going +10Km/h, they should pop up as soon as you put the GLK in Drive?
Has anyone tried switching the front fog lights with the new LED DRL?
Has anyone ever ordered items from mbonlineparts.com?
Comments:
FYI, for the 2011 models the Front and Rear fog light switches are now 2 buttons to the left of the Light switches.
Ordered accessories from accessories.mbusa.com, great service from them, one of the key rings I ordered came apart after 3 days in use, sent them an e-mail and they refunded me the full price without returning the item.
Isn’t there an Apple iPhone guru out there who could write an App that would allow the iPhone to send vCards to our GLK!?!?!?!?
You are doing it right for the memory function. It's not bimmer or S-class that has memory fob. I do find it annoying that you have to hold the buton down, but it's prolly for safety reason in case something gets in the way and you can just let the button go.
I think open door indicator should come on right away, too. Not sure what they were thinking. Not big deal tho.
Enjoy GLK.
Then I was entering the Infiniti and accidentally bumped my wife's button just as I sat down, and experienced the seat and wheel adjusting for my 5'5" wife (despite me being 6'2") until I managed to hit my button.
I now think having to hold the button is a fine idea...
