Used pricing?
1) All new cars are selling at invoice price or less, so the preceived value of the used car is not as high as you should not compare it to MSRP.
2) New cars come with better financing offers. If you have to finance, buying new will save 2-3k in interest.
3) You are covered for longer with original warranty. Not sure how much additional coverage CPO offers.
What you listed is basically my car, except I have xenons, trailer hitch and 17k miles. Mine, brand new, was 44k with 2% 66mo financing. I also took care of it from day one and know it wasn't abused. With used you are taking that risk. I bet those 20 inch wheels all sractched up, too.
Also keep in mind that 2010 GLK came out in January of 2009. My car is 2010 but it's almost two years old, that will have length of warranty implications when you buy used.
The price you listed is not bad, but if I was buying used I would look for private party with good maintenance records.
You take a risk with private party. Since these cars have been out for two years I would expect CPOs to be rare because they typically certify leased cars and most are three year leases. So I would bet starting one year from now CPO GLKs will be coming out all over the place.
IMHO $34K (about ten thousand less than new) is the way to go providing it is certified.
I should also say I never keep cars very long. Lately 2 years is the max as I just get sick of them quickly and move to something different. I try to buy the most well equipped and clean vehicles so I can sell them private party for not much less than I paid a year or so later. I actually think I will make money on my duramax after having it a year
One big delta is sales tax; when you buy you pay tax on the entire purchase price; when you lease you only pay tax on each lease payment.

you most likely don't need an MB.
The first time you take it in for service you will say HS
that is unless you DIY

Found another silver one with basically everything and 7k miles for $35,400....need to talk the wifey into silver haha!
Thanks everyone for the help! We need to take a longer test drive in one this weekend and drive a few other things before we get super serious.

Also headlamp washing system only comes with Xenon pack, so that's another clue.
Xenons packs are very rare, most GLKs were shipped without it.

Service A and B are mostly BS anyway and you can cut maint. cost by hundreds/year with a good independent MB shop or knowing the hidden deals at your own dealership.

Spooner, hope you got what you wanted

We did drive one for a longer period of time over the weekend and my wife drove it too and we really like them. Almost feels like a sports car handling wise (what isn't compared to a 3/4 ton truck haha). We did drive an 08 ML320 CDI and liked it more than we thought we would. Rode a lot smoother but drives more like a tank which is kinda what we are looking to get away from. If they just put that motor in the GLK it would be the ultimate!
Looks like the ones I found last week are sold but it will probably be a week or two until we are ready to buy as I have to leave town for work pretty soon and I have a lot of work to do before then and after. I'm keeping my eyes open though and if something comes along that is too good to pass up I am on it!
