iPhone not recognized via USB
I just bought a new GLK 350 and everything is fine. Great car. One problem. It recognizes my iPhone (3G with IOS 4.2) and the phone works. But it keeps repeating the connection and the little display comes up in the COMAND window with the name of my phone. Does this about every 15-20 seconds. Worse, when the phone is plugged into cable in the glove box, it says "Device not recognized". My wife's phone, which is virtually identical, works great.
The dealer is looking into it, but wondered if anyone else has seen anything similar. May just be my phone, but...

I am not familiar with the "Apple-thing" (sorry), however do I note the "My wife's phone, which is virtually identical, works great" - meaning it could have a different version of OS.
Take a look at the Mercedes-Benz "Bluetooth® technology" link: http://www4.mercedes-benz.com/manual...on/index.shtml,
select Apple and click on device in question for the respective operating instructions. You may find a clue there.

I have a same problem with our car system after update Iphone to version O.S 4.
I have a 3GS from March 2010. It does not even show phone book and caller id.
Only shows unknown number.
When connection to cable it show not recognized but still plays music and charges and shows title of songs.
Dealer does not known what to do.
Still waiting for some answer.
if anyone has advice your help is appreciated.

Update: I tried our iTouch in the car. The iTouch is also iOS 4 and it worked perfectly. As it turned out, I was due for an upgrade, so I did so, upgrading to an iPhone 4 with IOS 4.2. That works perfectly, so as far as I am concerned, the problem is solved.
