Turning OFF the CD

I knew the Command Center would throw curve *****, but actually, compared to BMW iDrive - it’s seems simple. HOWEVER, and I have read and fiddled until I must give up.
I am not a radio fan, so the CD goes on most of the time. Today, the CD was playing and I set NAV for a destination. Got there - CD still playing.

First, how do I shut off the CD player? Suppose I just want silence with the clock in the display. I assume one would want the Command Center on for use of the rear view camera.

I know each class has a bit different CC - mine is a 2011 GLK.

Another quirk - I wanted to set NAV for the 800 block of a street. The display came up in the 600’s and I could find no way to set it to 800.

Press the mute button on the steering wheel to stop cd/dvd/radio, etc.

You can have a compass in the display, but a clock? Anyone?

I kid, I kid, sorry... It's a saying left over from my tech days... As for the CD, I honestly don't know...

Thanks all. I am on several forums from HDTV to cars, to lawn care. Sometimes the questions that I and others ask may be deemed "stupid". I would even apply that term to some of my questions AFTER they have been posted. Anyway, it seems I got the correct answer here.

Yes - press the mute and press the Sys button to bring up the clock.

I rarely have it showing what I am listening to.

You can also have a DVD playing (for audio) while driving and using the navigation/system (clock) showing - do it all the time.

As they say the only stupid ones are those that you never ask.
