Windshield Washer Reservoir Leaking AGAIN
Just took my 2010 GLK to the dealer for its first "Service A" today -- will be one year old next week. Last August I noticed a fairly large puddle underneath near front left tire area -- well today they found my w/washer reservoir had a leak at the seam so they replaced it. Five hours after being back home today -- ANOTHER leak and puddle in the same place. Anyone else have this problem? 2 leaking reservoirs in one year already??? Is this a common problem or recognized defect with this model?

Yes it is a common problem, especially if you keep the washer solution filled with too much water and not enough washer antifreeze during the winter.

My washer fluid has only ever been filled once by the Mercedes dealer. The first time it leaked was 6 months after I bought it -- it just randomly leaked out in my garage one evening, but not enough to make the low light come on (it hadn't been filled since the car was purchased). I don't use my washer fluid frequently, I usually wash my windows by hand. I took it in for service A last week, they filled it and they found a leak in the seam and replaced the reservoir. Brought the car home and then it leaked again later that afternoon in my garage (5-6 hrs later). The only time my reservoir was ever filled, was by Mercedes. I am on my way in again this morning to get reservoir #3. I have never had any car with this problem before and it is a pain to have to return again to the dealer for something so stupid.

Just got back from the dealer about my leaking washer reservoir. Their initial inspection told them there wasn't a leak -- I showed them pics I took and they took me into the service area to show the master mechanic -- he then looked further and found that my washer reservoir "grommet" was leaking and replaced it -- while he was checking that with me, fluid actually poured out. Glad I stayed there instead of dropping it off or they would have said there was no problem. Once he saw the picture of where the large puddle was in my garage underneath the car, he was able to easily find the leak. We'll see if this works!!!
