GLK350 for first car

Hey everyone! This is my first post here, and I've read a lot of great info on the forum. I recently started searching for a first car, and the GLK appeals to me the most (I'm an 18 year old guy). My parents have the G500, and I really love driving it but I'd like to have my own car so I don't have to worry about screwing up their insurance, etc. Also, it's kinda scary driving such an expensive car, haha.

I test drove the GLK this weekend, and it was really great to drive. We left the dealer a deposit and are in the process of taking care of paperwork/etc.

Just wanted your opinions on the car. I've read up a lot about it, and the main concern seems to be the very small rear leg room. I'm not too concerned about that, though. I checked out the cargo space, and it seems it will be enough for my needs (filmmaking).

The car we left a deposit on is Silver, with the Premium 1 package, multimedia package, and heated seats. The thing I wanted the most was a rearview camera, but I'm sure I'd enjoy all the other features.

I also checked out the Audi Q5 and Land Rover LR2, but I don't seem to like them very much. The GLK has a certain style to it, and it's a Mercedes!

Just wanted to share that with you guys, and maybe get some feedback on my decision

LR2s are unique but its not for everyone and well the AWD is a ford system so meh.
Q5 is nice, too bad there was a long wait list for it when I was car shopping, otherwise I might of gone that route, however no regrets on the GLK either (except not having the god damn navi 7" screen)

Glk 350 with some 22s
I got the glk as my first car when i was 16. I'm 18 now and have no major problems with it or any regrets about getting it. It's definitely a reliable car and im glad i got it.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm not crazy about the LR2's interior electronic design, especially the little green display. The Audi Q5 also seems nice, so I think it mainly comes down to me choosing Mercedes over Audi, not that there's anything wrong with Audi of course!

And it's great to hear someone also got this as their first car. Glad to hear you're satisfied with it, makes me feel a lot better about the decision.

Haha! I do need the space for transporting equipment, but I know I won't be able to fit everything in there. For larger shoots I'm just gonna have to rent a van... or trailer. Hmm...

No it didn't, my reaction was the "haha!" Don't worry, I got it... and then I started actually thinking about the cargo space

WTF... 16 and 18 year olds getting GLK's for their 1st set of wheels?????? When I was that age, my Dad bought me a used 1964 Chevy Corvair Turbo Spyder for $600 bucks and I had to completely rebuild it over my summer vacation before it would even run.

We were looking to buy a used car at first, but my parents suggested that a new car is safer and more reliable so we started looking at the GLK.
