I have 30K on my car and before winter comes I want to put new tires on my GLK. The Pirelli's have been very good to me. How much have you paid for 235/45 20's in the Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico line?

They are $159 on tire rack. Not really too bad if you ask me.

I just don't think many people have even had to replace them yet. I'm lucky that they put new tires on mine as part of the CPO process so I should be good for a couple years. I'm honestly surprised how cheap they are-I'm used to buying E-load off road tires for my trucks the last few years.

159 is dirt cheap, for some reason I remember seeing them for 300 bux a year or two ago. It's hard to do better than tirerack, but most tireshops will match their price.

In Vancouver, BC. Volco Tires (1010tires) has them for $205 (235/45R20 XL M0). Last year, it was $300. I don't need to replace yet, but I wonder if Volco will match the Tirerack price $159.

I paid $137 per tire for my Pirelli's, but that was months ago. You usually see an increase in the summer months for tire prices, they go hand-in-hand with oil prices. I would jump on that $159 price from TireRack, plus, if you have problems, they're a great company to deal with...

I spoke to my mechanic and he will match Tire Racks price.
$636.00 tires
$ 44.00 shipping

Have to add mounting and balancing, he is charging me $185.00 each. Sound reasonable? Since I have enough tread to go until winter he is going to hold them for me until then.

Of course he would, he'll prolly get them from tirerack for wholesale price if he can't get it cheaper from manufacturer.

26 bux per wheel sounds pricey, but if he can really get job done right who cares. Just keep in mind that if he is not pro tire shop he might not have good equipment that can handle large wheel/tire and he might end up scraping it. Some tire shops wont touch aftermarket rims for that reason. I would use somebody who's dealt with large wheels.

I have been buying tires from him for years. When people say that they will match tire racks prices I would assume that they mean the cost of the tire plus shipping. Hence $159+$11 shipping and then $15.00 for mounting and balancing. Does $185.00 per tire sound too much?
