Window buttons.

Somehow pushing the button down to raise and up to lower the windows seems intuitively backwards to me. I still go the wrong way half the time. I wonder why they did it that way?

I am a little here, but if you mean pushing - down = pressing and pushing - up = pulling, the function of your GLK side window switches is inverted. Note 2011 GLK Operator's Manual page (number) 82: http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...l/2011_glk.pdf.

If so, it's a case for the dealer.

yea push down to lower, pull up to raise is how it should work...they could have switched wiring by mistake so it's backwards...

My window buttons work in the correct directions, it just seems intuitively backwards to me. Pulling the top of the switch towards me should lower the window to my way of thinking. I'll have to bring that up with Herr Benz next time we share a cold one.

Whether that's gonna be a cold - or warm one depends - as Herrn Karl Friedrich Benz passed in 1929.

I will probably reside in the warm region so perhaps we shall not meet.

he would tell you that your way of thinking is backwards

Have you had a car that actually would work in the way you described?

I've never been in a single vehicle of any sort that had the window switches function the way he described..

I pull a dresser drawer to open it, I pull a choke to activate it and push it to put it back to the off position, same with push/ pull light switches, etc., etc., etc., but in my Mercedes I have to push the drawer to open it and pull to close it. *** backwards.

That would be the case in any other car...down to lower, up to raise the window not sure what's backward there. If you really want to apply your logic, then if window was "manual" you would push down on it to lower it and pull it up to raise it back.

I'm trying to understand why pulling the button up to make the window go up is backwards...

This is not meant to be insulting but have you ever had a car with power windows? I hope the answer is yes but I think what makes it different is the fact that the switches are on somewhat of an angle and maybe that makes for your observation.
