Removed Completely
Because of the musty smell from the A/C, I've removed this filter completely for the summer months. I cut the charcoal filter element from the base plate which seals the opening into which the filter is inserted. The A/C has been stink-free for several months since removing the filter.
With the filter removed there is less restriction for the air flow, so the fan on "Automatic" tends to blow more than necessary. I have not checked that the drain tube(s) are clear and draining, but I will do so.
I hope this smell does not return, because it has been bad enough to convince me to dump this vehicle after the lease is over.

I can't say, "Just sayin". It was banned from the language.

Instructions needed for cabin air filter replacment 2010 GLK350
I need instructions for replacing a cabin air filter on a 2010 GLK350. Can't find it on the forum and did see a link which doesn't appear to work any longer. Thanks

Just use instructions that come with the filter. Very easy to replace.
- after removing three screws, removing the cover takes a bit of wiggling
- dont drop small metal clips in each end of the filter when you unclip them

Folks, the link to the cabin filter install pdf from Mann is dead http://www.mann-hummel.com/mf_prodka...u/HB5JXdhG.pdf. Anyone know where else to find it or some different instructions?
