that's a good price, but I would ask for another $1500 off and see where they can go from there , you write the number on the paper and sit back.

I'd say it a VERY good deal if it goes through. almost $7k off MSRP for 2012 model is not possible around my area. WE bought a 2011 with a few options less with MSRP of $46k and out the door $43.5K so take it. dont be greedy for more.

Good luck. That may be harder than getting a great price. Fortunately, my wife is totally onboard. And she should be. She gets the GLK.

I think you are all missing the point. What makes something a good deal?

Is it the right color?
Does it have all the options you want?
Can you afford what you have chosen?

No need to answer us. What is it that makes a good deal? Do you REALLY want this vehicle? Does it make a difference if other people think it's a good deal. It's your desire to buy something you really like not what other people think.

With that said what if for argument sake the vehicle is $60K and the best price you can get is $59K is that a good deal? It is is you think is.

If you think it is a good deal and you need to get your wife to agree then it doesn't make a difference if it's a good deal or not.

Whose car will it be? Is it a family vehicle? I know where you are coming from. I bought my GLK because its my vehicle but I did want to keep peace in the family. I have my GLK and I just ordered myself a Corvette. If it's for you you have to be happy with it.

The GLK is a beautiful vehicle. I hope you decide to get it and it's a great deal whatever you decide.

What is the going Final Price vs. Invoice % for new 2011/12 right now?
True Cars is saying avg. final price is about:
5% below MSRP.
or
1% above invoice (basically this the regional advertising cost passed to the customer)

Yet Edmunds is showing about:
8.5% below MSRP
or
3% BELOW invoice.

How are recent buyers faring out there?

Edmund's is showing a zip code specific "True Market Value". For my zip code, Edmund's says the T.M.V. is 4.6% above invoice. I guess I got a better deal at 3% above invoice.

Not necessarily. Truecars is also zip code based, so I am still not sure what the differentiator between them vs. edmunds.

I've been hearing anecdotally that Truecars may be a bit closer to reality so I was just asking to verify that notion (seems true).
