WRT the suspension -- I assume it must be psychological in the GLK, but it surely seems that in "S" mode the suspension stiffens and that overall the suspension/steering is more responsive also. (I do have adjustable suspension with 3 settings in my CLS550, so I am familiar with the effect.)
Don't forget that the speed-sensitive power steering also helps improve agility and maneuverability & adds to the overall adaptive characteristics you & I may be feeling.

I sometimes do feel the GLK stiffens whenever I push it to it's heels like going in a corner really fast. I do know because I feel less body roll on the car and I get a slap on the face by the wife at the same time.

You meant it's on the LEFT side of the shifter??? LOL
Anyway, I rather see the setting "S" or "C" mode stay where it is last set at. Like "S" setting for summer and "C" setting for winter time.
I'll bug the service tech when I bring my car in for service next time, even though knowing not getting me anywhere further.
