''S" mode
I think most of us prefer "S" mode when we're driving.
If anyone figured out please share with the rest of us.
Thanks
It will always reset to E after restart.
As Venchka stated, press the button.
You're already there with your hands on the shifter to get to "D".
Takes you what 2 millisecs?
I am not.

I know it's just a push of a button, but it's kinda annoy if we stop/start and go a lot.
For example, left side mirror, I can set it so when I put in "R" it's tilt down.
It would hope it could do the same for "S" mode.
1) 2 millisecs is just a different habit you get into - faster than putting on your seatbelt & that's a habit no?
2) We try to avoid having to restart the engine because that would mean not driving more & wasting gas.
3) When I select R, the passenger mirror doesn't tilt down unless I have already pre-select it.

Well, maybe the ones in the States does not have that feature.
The passenger mirror on mine does tilt down as soon as I put in "R", and does go back to normal when I put in "D'.
I know probably there is no way to have in "S" mode as a default mode, but I just hope some one might know a secret or hidden menu to select it.
Example: like reference line for back up camera.

But it gets deselected if one of the 3 conditions on page 99 occurs.
I tested it yesterday & it appears true.

Standing by for a manual. And a GLK to match the manual.

*Mostly to AMG owners who are usually in the know.
I highly doubt the ECU/blackbox won't record a preset that is outside the planned MB algogithm.
Ie - that would be hard to hide.
BTW - Having owned BMW's M division cars, I wholly know that the ECU can be hacked on the after market, grey market or supermarket & usually will come with a warning that doing so will extinguish any manufacturer's warranty.

& responding to your 'wink wink" in the know comment.
If it sounds like a quack, it must be a hack.
My buddy has a Vantage & he paid for his official ProDrive "hack" because there isn't much grass roots enthusiasts participating in recalibrating the ECU in the Aston community vis a vis the BMW community where there are numerous different companies doing it @ a competitive price.

There are two changes:
1st gear starts.
Slightly higher RPM shift points.
Measure those differences with your atomic stopwatch.

from lethargic & fuel sipping to enthusiastic & less miserly.
btw - The BMW E60 M5 used to let you drive around with only 400HP out 507 HP turned on for fuel savings.
& I do know some enthusiasts did just use 400 for daily driving ("savings").
While E vs. S doesn't affect suspension in US GLK.
I do think that if you start driving harder in S, the suspension will adjust as well.
Which lends to the sporty nature of the setting.

WRT the suspension -- I assume it must be psychological in the GLK, but it surely seems that in "S" mode the suspension stiffens and that overall the suspension/steering is more responsive also. (I do have adjustable suspension with 3 settings in my CLS550, so I am familiar with the effect.)
