Check Engine Light
Mine came on today and it's been very cold (-25 c) the past week or so. I started the vehicle up after work and it started fine but then the check engine light came on. Vehicle idles fine and ran fine so i have just ignored the light for the last few hours.
I havent put any gas in recently - so not a gas cap issue
I used to have a Honda Prelude and all i did to reset the engine light was disconnect the battery for a minute or so and that reset the check engine light.
will this work on GLK?
Do i then need a stereo code to get the radio/cd player to work after disconnecting the battery?
Assuming all is ok with the GLK (i will monitor how it runs for 10 days)- how can i reset the light without heading to the dealer ?
Thanks
Note pages #118 - and -119 of the GLK Operator's Manual, http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...l/2010_glk.pdf.
I checked the vehicle status messages and it showed "0 messages". I guess i'll wait to see if it clears itself or take it in for my next oil change and have the MB dealer have a look.
Worries me that the really cold weather we're having triggered this probably. Hope this doesnt become a pain in the butt.
Thanks

FYI, external temperature is not a trigger for the CEL. Something internal is not performing to the programmed specs and the computer sees it as a fault.
