Bumper inserts

What are those little parallelogram shaped inserts in each bumper? They measure approximately 2.25" x 3". Is there a James Bond type machine gun hiding behind each one?

If you have headlight washers, they pop up and spray your headlights clean. If not, then it's the cover plate for the tow-hook that's in your trunk.

Very very slow
You can use that to tow the car that's been shot down by James Bond.

If you have the headlight NON-washers, then there are 3 covers. 2 for the NON-washers on the horizontal surface and one on the verticle surface for the tow ring.
I reckon 3.5L was asking about the tow ring cover.

Like I said, 3. And one in the back, also for the tow ring.

So for the GLK they all have headlight washer holes but some are dummies and some are functional depending on if it's equipped with the lighting package?

I find that interesting, if true, because on all other MBs, they made two front bumpers. One without the holes and one with depending on level of equipment.

Thanks guys. Good info.

My GLK does not have headlight washers and interestingly, it also does not have the insert covers under each headlight. Smooth bumper in that area.

front bumper

There are several different bumpers for the GLK but none come with fake covers. If you have the lighting package option you will have the washer covers, if you have in addition the parktronic you will have the parktronic holes, if you have no options you will only have the tow hook cover. This goes for the regular or AMG style bumper and by the way list on just the bumper cover is around $800+.

That's funny! Two neighbors have GLK's, a 2010 and a 2011 respectively. Both are strip naked bare bones. The 2011 has dummy covers, not the 2010. In fact, I recall that this was quite common in some rock bottom GLK's. VW, Audi also does this as well.

I don't have headlight spray heads, but there are no dummies either.
