Voice calling and dialing on 2012

Voice calling and dialing on 2012
Need some input from those more advanced in electronics..
In my 2007 ML, when paired with the phone, and I need to make a phone call, I just press the steering wheel "talkie" button and say "Call Home". The girl voice then comes on and says "Calling Home" and the call connects.
Now on the 2012 GLK, when we try the same thing, the girl voice comes on and says "Please select a name" and the screen displays several contacts including Home. Then you have to say which line Home corresponds to, and then the call dials and connects. It has the EVC feature from the factory MM Package.
Does anyone know of a way to have it do the one request dialing as in my "old" ML? I did program the voice and address book like it says on page 18 of the Command manual. Or is this a case of technology getting "better" and thus making it harder for the user?
