No Burl-Have Special Order Aluminum trim
Our 2013 GLK is here. My wife wanted the Aluminum trim to go with the Ash/Black interior. Much prefer it to the Burl especially with the ash interior. Also changed the oem Conti's to Michelin MXV4's. Ordered 2W drive as the GLK will never be off road or deep snow. Wife's car. Fantastic ride and on our 50 mile 1st cruise got 29mpg on mostly freeway @ 65 mph average speed. About 4-5 mpg better than our 2010 GLK.
Can't believe we are riding in an SUV. Much better than the C car that our dealer gave us as a loaner. It's pretty well loaded as this is my wife's FOREVER CAR.

I am elated to see you are happy with your GLK
Happy driving , it would be great if you shot pics of your W212 and X204 side by side at two forums (W212 pic thread and this nice place )

I got to see the aluminum dash in a special order car and was a little perplexed as it had a carbon fiber weave. It doesn't look bad but would have looked better had it been brushed aluminum or aluma-look like the steering wheel trim.

Aluminum trim, not burl
Our new 2013 GLK has the ash/black interior. The aluminum trim looks great with this this interior. It might not suit all other interior combinations. Your choice!

29 mpg is pretty impressive; must be the new direct-injected engine...

Yeah, keeping the speed down probably helps.
My "sweet spot" is around 80, which is probably why I average 25 mpg on the highway.
My 2011 is 2WD as well, but with the original engine, of course.
