I tried testing this out too, and it isn't working for me either. I'm running iOS 6.1. So far, I've tried turning off the notification in the lock screen, a text message versus an iMessage, but still no luck.

I just bought a 2012 C300 and hooked up my Iphone 5 to Bluetooth - once I went into my phone and checked "Show notifications" under my settings/Bluetooth, I started receiving text messages! AND...it works while driving. You can even have them read outloud to you. The only thing is, I don't believe you can respond back. (which is probably for the better)

Thanks Glars for the info. That's been something I've been wanted to do since I got my glk. So when you selected "Show Notifications," did you select anything else, such as banners..etc?

Nothing else Kuro! You will hear a little ding over the speakers when you get a text, you then have to go to your phone setting on the nav and down to text messages...you can even have it read it to you! Crazy! Good luck!

Still no luck Glars. I connected my iphone 5 through Bluetooth, received an iMessage, but my display still says no messages. On my iPhone settings I have notifications on, view in lockscreen enabled, and show preview. Am I missing anything?

the car display works on the notification function. If you are not getting a pop up window, or a text bar notification (depending upon your settings) - you will not receive it via Bluetooth in our car.

Have someone send you a text message, if you are actually on the iMessage screen, watching the text message come to your phone - you will not receive that same text message on your car.

Someone else stated this above clearly - if you are inside the messaging application, you do not get any type of pop up notification of a new text - the next new text just shows up on the screen.

If you would exit out of iMessage to the main screen, then have someone send you a text. If you get a pop up notify - you should also see it pop up on your car screen (as long as you are paired with your COMMAND system).

The COMMAND system does not directly access your texts, the COMMAND system is just a notification destination, just like the screen pop up is a notification destination.

I have the Becker Map Pilot and also receive text messages via a iPhone 4 ios 6.xx. I only can see them, read them, but cannot respond. The system does not read the text for me. They clear after you turn off the car. If you get multiple texts while driving, you can see all texts. you have to go to the phone setting to see these. the only improvement would be to have them read or show up on the info screen in the speedometer.
