The GLK surprised me

It would interesting to drive a real Autobahn ready GLK in the The Mother Country. Could be a totally different vehicle.

. Rent a GLK and let her rip on the autobahn! But seriously, we're planning a trip to the UK next year. I wonder if there's anything close in that part of the world where we could have fun with a rental GLK. But right now, the thought of going fast on the wrong side of the road sounds a bit terrifying. not to mention driving from the right seat
.As to our own GLK here in the states, I have driven it up California highway one quite a few times and it really feels at home in the windy, twisty, up and down two-lane highway. But then, I have it in the "S" mode plus the slower stretches of the highway keep the transmission in the lower gears.

Right on, Brother! I totally enjoyed the GLK in the mountains around Boone, NC. Roads where 35 was pushing the envelop.
UK rentals: I accidentally found a web site today offering an Austin Healy 3000 for hire. That is how you should tour the Old Country. I'll try to find it again tomorrow.

Seriously, if I do it, I agree that the Austin Healey 3000 would be the way to go (assuming good weather). And it appears that they will come get you if something unfortunate should happen. Heh!

There are some knowledgeable posters on the MBWorld Audio & Electronics forum (https://mbworld.org/forums/audio-electronics-38/), so maybe you should (re-) post your question there? A response may even give you a reference to a shop.
Good luck!

Fixed, broken... either way, it'll leak oil!

My 2010 felt like this. More accelerator pedal stroke was needed to get it going. My 2013 is completly different. I believe the accel pedal drive by wire mapping has changed as well as the force to push the pedal is reduced. Combined with the increased HP and torque of the new engine, my 2013 feels outright athletic vs my old 2010. 2013 is more sport vs my 2010 which felt more utility vehicle.

On the muscle cars from times gone by - the suspension was worse than bad by modern standards. You could go around a corner and wonder if the rear of the car was going to follow you. Enough gas and it wouldn't. I've had some amazing old cars. A 1963 Buick Riviera, a 1967 Caprice SS396 and a 1969 Impala 427. They were all good for a straight line run - only.
