What GLK Wood Steering Wheel?
I drive a 2011 GLK and I'm having trouble understanding why they're offering the different wheels, I've numbered each wheel for easy references.

Well 1 and 2 and standard and 3 and 4 are sport. Sport has some paddle buttons on the rear of the steering wheel. The difference between 1 and 2 as well as 3 and 4 is just when your car was built.

When you did your carbon fiber change, did you keep your walnut steering wheel? I checked out your photo thread, sweet ride, I didn't realize how luxurious the R Class was.
I'm pretty sure I'll need steering wheel 1, I don't think the GLK350 had a sport option, at least with the 2011 I own. Seems like there hasn't been anyone else who's purchased the extras for the GLK in regards to the woodgrain dashboard vents, steering wheel, or replacing the shifter to burl walnut.
I'm probably going to do it all. At first I wasn't sure, but the more I saw that other models came with these options, some standard, I felt that it would ultimately upgrade my GLK for years to come. Plus I love the way cars look from the outside when they have the wood steering wheel.
My friends laugh at me because I'm fixing up a Benz.

They're working on a custom carbon fiber steering wheel for me right now. Since my car's wheel is in low demand, they don't want to do a core exchange like they usually would for the steering wheels. So in the end, I will be able to keep my stock Burlwood steering wheel.
It's possible that in Europe the paddle shift buttons are an option and in the US they're all standard. Yours does have the shifting buttons on the back, right?
Yeah just go for it! We've got an all burlwood shifter on the 99 ML from the factory and it's quite nice. Really hasn't aged at all after all these years.
Meh, I find that a lot of Benzes are "imperfect" when they leave the factory. I've got to fine tune it just right for my tastes.
