2013 Lighting Package LEDs

When does the LED strip above the Lighting Package headlights light up? I've never seen it on on my car. Didn't see a mention of it in the manual.

Here's a picture:

You'll have to sit on the hood and watch while someone else drives. Or mount a mirror in front of the lights that you can see from the driver's position.
I assume that you have tried every possible combination afforded by all the various light switches? Are the Daytime Running Lights enable through the speedometer display menus and steering wheel buttons?

All the lighting options are set to Auto. I tried High Beams, but that's a separate bulb, not the LEDs. I'm really perplexed. I haven't even been able to find a photo, or even a promotional photo, of them On.

The turn signal is the curved orange light that is above the headlight, but just below the LEDs.

Sounds complicated (or dangerous!).

Just drive up to a glass store front and look at the reflection...

Can you circle the LED light not on when you are set at Auto ? look at you photo, from left to right : have light in orange , Bi-Xenon, low and high beam headlight, and next to it is light bulb ( this light is on same time with Bi-Xenon when set Auto ) then LED orange curved, above LED is turn signals also flash yellow when you press harzad button in side your car. That it.

Maybe I had it all wrong then. I thought the Orange Curved Light is what blinks, not the white looking LED bulbs above the Orange Curved Light. I'll check when I get home.

Hit the hazard flasher switch and walk around the car observing all of the flashing lights. If the LEDs in question are flashing, next turn off the hazard flasher switch and turn on the turn signal flasher. Let us know what you find out.

Well, what I thought were white LEDs are actually the yellow turn signal. Seems redundant to have them over a yellow light already. Here's a pic:

For those of you that have cameras on your phone. Find something to prop it up so it is aimed to the front or rear of your car, start recording, go in your car and test all functions (brake, turn, reverse, etc...) and then watch the video to confirm.

Good tip.
For some of us who have earlier model than 2013 GLK, the lights are different.
The functions may not be he same.

Ah yes. The Techno-Geek solution. Turn a simple human observation task into something difficult by introducing high tech hardware.
I was able to ascertain the functionality of all exterior lights during delivery and before sitting in our GLK for the first time. Including the rear fog light.

IMHO all those LED thingies that are all the rage look like something that was bought at JC Whitney and put on in the back yard like purple lights under the running boards.

Yes, I didn't really use it to see which lights performed which functions (fairly obvious) but when I was troubleshooting the tail lights onthe C class by myself I wanted to be able to double check that everything was working correctly.
