Would the OEM Mercedes Ipod/Aux cord upload song titles to the command unit as well as allow the driver to scroll through songs from the steering wheel controls?

Is there any difference with this cord and a standard universal aux cord to connect an IPod? I know the universal cord does not allow steering wheel functions nor displays the song title on my w203 command.

Nope, it does not. I'm presuming it's the same as on my E350. The type of cord has nothing to do with the controls available on the car.

 

Not with the steering wheel controls. On the wheel you can skip forward or back in the playlist.
The instrument cluster shows the current song, and I think will let you select playlists ( I don't remember right now).

The control knob does allow you to scroll through artists, band, genres, etc. from the screen.
