GLK250 BlueTec NO Spare Tire rumors
How about rumors that GLK250 BlueTec will have Run-Flat tires only and no spare tire at all?
What are you car specs?

GLK250 BlueTec Run-Flat tires
As I put on another tread maybe its a pure speculation, but take a look at the most resent model year 2013 owner manual (link is below) MBUSA.
http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...l/2013_GLK.pdf
Take a look at pages 358,359. The Tires table lists wheel/tire combinations for GLK350 and GLK250 BlueTec. Do you see that the only tires left in the list for GLK250 BlueTec are 235/50 R19 99H M+S MOExtended ( tires with run-flat characteristics). All others are USA: not for GLK250 BlueTEC.
Does this confirm the theory ( indirectly ) that GLK250 BlueTEC has only Run-Flat tires?
Do you think that Canadian version is different as far as tires?

The little notes says "USA: not for GLK250". But the manual is for USA and Canada. Here's hoping that means Canada is different ( the Cdn MB's are different in many ways usually). Cdn technical specs list a compact spare for the 250. Fingers crossed. We pay way more for our cars here so maybe we finally are getting something for the extra money.

As of 3/4/13 MB of Tampa says my 250 order should be in this week. They are the biggest MB dealer south of Atlanta and they were only allocated 2 vehicles. Glad I have my name on one of them. Will let you know when I get that phone call to pick up.

It means that maybe sometime next week or so with release of your vehicle we will see MSRP price and options available to US customers?!

Hey I'm in Tampa too. I've been in touch with MB of Tampa, I was told there was a red one with almond interior on the ship that they could put my name. But I want to wait and get the exact options I want. Did they give you any indication of the price?

In talking with my dealer about my European Delivery, he tells me they have two sitting at their facility near Customs at Long Beach, CA, and they can't be released until MB USA announces a release date and introduction in the US. I think MB USA is totally screwed up!!

My Calgary dealer called this afternoon to tell me they have a demo in stock as of this morning. I will be heading in after work on Wednesday for a test drive. My wife and I put a deposit on a white on mocha full load on Saturday afternoon It's due to arrive around June 17. We took a new 350 for a spin just to make sure it fit me well enough (6'7", 285 lbs)...I was pleasantly surprised. Finally a compact euro suv that works for tall/big guys.
Kinda liked the new 3.5 gasser, was smooth, quiet and quite powerful. While the CRV has been bulletproof reliable, it doesn't come close to the 13 GLK.

I read on an MB dealer webpage that they are claiming 5.9l/100 km highway. I was also told by the sales manager that the Canadian 2.1 won't be detuned and will be coming in at 200+ hp rather than the 190 or so that was originally published . Still don't know if I believe it, but he was a pretty straight shooter and has been with the company for a few years. Any body else hear anything about this?

My wife and I tested the 250 late this afternoon . Nice ride. Not quite the torque I was expecting but very impressive none the less. Seems smoother and quieter than the 3.5 gasser to me. Popped the hood and you can barely tell it's a diesel. Gotta love those piezo injectors.
Salesman told me the 250 hadn't had a moments rest all day. When I had it out, I checked the current l/100 km and it showed a tank average of 10.1. I thought it over and decided that this was quite impressive given the fact that all the test driving was in the city of Calgary and that the majority of testers were likely driving it pretty hard (this was later confirmed by the salesman). This works out to 28 mpg imp for brisk city driving in an SUV that hasn't even broken in yet. According to the published literature I was given, the 250 is highway rated at 5.9 l/100 km which is roughly 47.5 mpg imp. If it even hits 45 mpg hwy I'll be thrilled!
Our last tank on the CRV averaged just over 25 mpg combined
