Remove Rear Hatch Cover

How do you remove the rear hatch cover on a 2010 GLK350?
Where are the clips located? (there are no screws)
Where do you get replacement clips?

I just had mine apart this weekend. There are a lot of those orange plastic Christmas-tree fasteners, and they break easily if not careful. Your dealer probably has plenty. The two grab handles hide 4 screws; use a wedge tool and split the handles at the seams; they split in half exposing the T20 screws. Then start getting a wedge between the cover and door near a handle an pull straight; there are four metal dagger clips that pull out of rectangular slots in the door. Then, pull the panel out so you can see the orange Christmas-tree fasteners. I used a forked wedge tool to get around the base of the fasteners as symmetrically as possible and wobble them free of the door. If you can squirt some silicone lube at them they pull out easier. Once all (12?) fasteners are loose, the door comes off by sliding it up and away. Silicone spray really helps assembly.

Good luck!
