Replace Brake Pads

I have a 2010 GLK350 with 19" tires. After 51,000 km, the brake pads are down to about 20%. I am thinking of replacing them and get rid of the squeaky brake noises (and heavy brake dust) which MB Canada and the dealer said is normal due to the material that they use on the new brake pads.

I am living in Toronto (Markham), Ontario and wondering does anyone has already replaced their brake pads and rotors. Any recommendation on a shop for the job? I do not have a huge budget for it, so no Brembo brakes. Just have the battery replaced a few days ago. It doesn't have enough power to crank the engine after I have the hazard lights on for 15 minutes. Happened twice in 2 days. So replaced it before the Winter time.

350 GLK, C280
Get some Akebono Ceramic pads and do it yourself. I have used them on C class sedan, CLK, Range Rovers and will do my 350 as soon as it needs it. Use the brake quite stuff on the back and you will eliminate the Black dust and squeak. Get a couple of sensors as they are very cheap in case you need one. Lots of instructions on the forum.

G350 Bluetec
Powerwash your wheels off the car remove crap inside/out

Then, after all the brake dust is gone wax your wheels every 3 months just like your car.

Use stock pads....

My wife's US spec 2012 GLK doesn't do brake dust or brake noise. Maybe you can get the same pads in The Great Frozen Northland?

Nor does our U.S. 2011.

Perhaps they changed the pad compound after 2010...

Y'all drive funky. Or MB used a variety of pads. I can only vouch for 4 sets of pads on a 2012 GLK. No dust to speak of.

45 K Miles still on my 1st set of brake pads. No squeals and not much brake dust. Can't beat that!
