Room for 5 adults in GLK's?

I'm curious what kind of roominess, or lack thereof, there is in the vehicle for 5 adults? I'm sure 3 in back is a bit cramped, but any comments in that means of transport? How uncomfortable?

I'm picking one up in Europe and there's 5 of us going.

It is tight. I had my wife (5'3" 120#) and 2 grand kids (each 6'4" 180 - 190 pounds) in the back, but it was tight! Wouldn't want to go more than a few miles. Realy a 4 seater.

You will fit but it is tight and uncomfortable for long distances.

Bob, I assume that you will want to do most of the driving, so not an issue for you! I'd suggest that a lot depends upon their eagerness to make a great trip. A lot also depends upon the size of your guests. To be on the safe side, why don't you all go to the dealership and sit in one? Oh, and make sure that there isn't too much luggage.

A few years ago I drove with four other adults in my then C240 wagon from Boston to Montreal. The GLK will be more comfortable than that trip was!

Uncomfortable for two of the three in the back and uncomfortable+ for the one in the middle seat - look at the backrest. The luggage compartment is a challenge (the smallest in the class). When the two of us go on a fortnights trip or so, we fill the area to the luggage compartment cover.

Thanks for all the observations. It WILL be a great trip, two daughters and their husbands, the largest being about 5'9", 180#, the rest all under 150.

Good thought on the duffel bags. My measurements suggest luggage on end might also work.

Anyone know of a luggage rack that fits on a trailer hitch?
