Installed Yakima Rack w/ Load Basket and Bike Carrier
I got sick of cramming my dog, bike, bags, and other gear in my trunk with the rear seats folded. I was split 50/50 on the aesthetics of the load basket, but I needed a place to put my muddy gear as well as the front wheel of the bike. Honestly, having a clean and clutter-free interior is very important to me so I said 'aw hell' and went for it. I'm pretty happy about the utility and I don't think it looks like "too much".
I'll probably end up installing factory crossbars somewhere down the road, just for the slimmer profile really, but for now these will do fine. Running boards also seem like a good idea now. I've been stepping on the rear door sill to reach and I hate leaving an imprint there. If anyone can direct me to a reputable seller of running boards, other than the stealer, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure how much the quality can vary on running boards, but I don't want to waste my money on something that fits poorly or has been known to break.
I chose this brand because they were offering a decent rebate ($30 back @ $300, $40 back @ $400, up to $50) and the store I got them at was already listing them 10% less than the MSRP lsited on the manufacturer's website.
-Yakima Rail Grab
-Yakima round cross bars
-Yakima Boa (bike carrier)
-Yakima Load Warrior (basket)
-Yakima Fairing for basket

Thanks for the compliment.
I would say there is only as much noise as you would expect from having a metal basket on your roof. The fairing helps, but it is definitely noticeable at highway speeds with the windows up.
