GLK vs C300 - Better!

So, I had a 2014 C300 for a loaner yesterday (I had a 2012 C300 for a few months before getting the GLK).

I have to say, the C300 rode rougher and had significantly more road noise than the GLK. I was shocked at how noisy it was.
And it was a Premium package C300, not a stripped down, base model car.

The new C has the 3.5 liter engine, but I have read it is detuned to less horsepower, and I believe it. The C300 was not nearly as peppy as my GLK, I found myself surprised at how slow it felt.

I knew I liked the GLK after trading in my C, but after having it for nearly a year and going back to a C, the contrast was surprising.
A few times I have wondered if I was stupid for trading my C300 for the GLK ("Did I *really* need this vehicle? Did I *really* make a stupid and expensive decision?"). Yesterday removed any doubts.

That's good to hear. I made the same expensive decision to swap a C300. Although I love the GLK, I often cringe when my frugality kicks in.

I also have the same observation as I have a glk and c300 right now. With regards to noise and pickup the glk trumps the c300. One thing for sure though is somehow no matter how comfortable and peppier the glk is I like driving the c300 more because of the driving dynamics. So I only us the glk when going for a long drive as it is a really good cruiser. If there is such a thing as "no depreciation reset button" I'll get a ML bluetech 4matic and a C350 4matic instead.

I drove my mother in law's C300 and liked it, however, I am on the heavier side and am used to my 2007 Escape. Getting in and out of the C300 was a bit tight so the GLK350 was a perfect fit. Gave the Escape to oldest kid in college while my mother in law gave my youngest (17 at the time) her C280.
I just got the GLK350 two weeks ago and just love it....

Prius, GLK at port
I was given a loaner loaded sporty C, 350 or something. My GLK was shipped from Florida. I had a hard time giving up that C.

GLK is more comfortable overall and I like being high up. GLK drives better than any SUV/crossover I tested and most Cars.

But I will give the performance driving edge to the C. Curves, acceleration, fit for my 5'4 frame. The car just fit, easy to park, maneuver, etc.

But, I like to haul, and the C trunk was full. I am always buying a painting, floorlamp, end table, or some antique.

I could see buying a C if I get hauling out of my system. Split folding seats. I was told the 2014 or 15 is going to be a bigger car. I also like gas milage of C.
