06 C 350 2014 GLK350
The Sunshine Ace ship is due in at Long Beach tomorrow morning. I saw my salesman a couple days ago and still no prices. I will post the prices as soon as I get them.
It's been a long wait for the GLK. My wife has already named it "Smiley" since our non AMG front looks like it's smiling.

Yes, a factory order with Stuttgart pick up. I talked to the salesman the other day and he mentioned that it was built. When I asked if he was certain it was built then he changed his tune and was "pretty sure" it was already built. Sad.... When he sent the VIN a while back he wrote that it meant the build was "imminent" and had previously stated that the 15 July 13 delivery date was "tentative." Typical salesman talk.

The "NATO Middlemen" confirmed receipt of my payment today. Now they transfer it to M-B USA and when they give the okay I can pick it up in Stuttgart. They said this can take up to 3 weeks. I'm expecting (hoping??) it will take less. - much less...

Still waiting for my GLK 350 It has been at the Carson VPC for the past six days and still shows "In Process." It's getting hard to be patient.
Has anyone had delivery on a 2014 GLK 350?

Still Waiting!
There was a $250 increase on P1 that I didn't have in this list. The current price for P1 is $3,700

I ordered my GLK 350 on 5/19; it had a 'decade planned' of 13/06-1, 'decade scheduled' of 13/06-2, and 'est prod date' of 2013/06/2D. I assume the first two indicate the first and second week of June, but I'm not sure what the '2D' means -- second half of June? Anyway, no word here on anything. I doubt it was on the ship with yours, but you never know!

Thanks for the tracking info on your car; I enjoyed tracking it across the Atlantic, through the Canal, and into Long Beach. Just wish it had been mine. Maybe I should buy through your dealer in Scottsdale (even though I live in Washington State), just to get some feedback on my car.

Your salesman is able to check the shipping information and give you the name of the ship that has your car. Then, you can easily track the ship, except when it is out of tracking range. At the canal you need to go to the live camera feed, at the canal, and you can watch your ship go through the canal.
Good luck with your new GLK.

How about 2014 GLK250BT?

I was advised today that my 2014 GLK350 has been "released" by MB USA (they got the money) and is now available for pick up in Stuttgart. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to get there until some time next week but at least the wait is over, more or less...

Mine finally arrived after sitting for two weeks at the VPC. It is a great car, in every way BUT it is for my Wife and she just told me that she doesn't want it. She doesn't like the high seating and feels she is driving a truck.
She also doesn't like the wide rocker panels that get her legs dirty when getting out.
So, after all my careful planning, I'm going to have to sell the GLK and get her another E350 or whatever she wants.
So sad!

Sad to say my wife's 2014 GLK is sold. I took in trade a beautiful E500 with only 26,000 miles that I will have to sell when we get the 2014 E350 that is on order.
That GLK had all the goodies and drove like a dream. It was unfortunate that it didn't fit my wife who I now found out is only 4'11". With her short legs she simply was too close to the airbag which can be deadly if the bag went off.
I would recommend the 2014 GLK to just about anyone especially if you get the 360 degree cameras.

Now is my turn. The 2014 GLK250BT, which I dropped off in Frankfurt on September 2d is scheduled to be loaded on the "Tonsberg" with departure from Bremerhaven on September 13 and arriving to Baltimore on September 24th.

They changed vessel to Independence II, the vehicle was loaded on September 16th and after short stop in England the vessel somewhere in Atlantic Ocean almost 7 days "Not currently in Range". Let see when the vessel will appear on radar again.

Wow! Those two weeks on the docks are going to cause you to rival us
West Coaster's on shipping time! Maybe even beat us!
I think something is wrong somewhere with that site for the ship locations. Mine disappeared going into the canal yet many others showed up. Can't believe they'd lose one in the Atlantic.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics tracking systems tells this voyage scheduled to arrive in Baltimore, MD on September 29, 2013, BUT their "Track and Trace" link/update for my VIN number tells the following status as of today, September 27th: "Status: CUSTOMS RELEASE Status Location: WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ"
What does it mean? What is the next step?

All import vehicles have to go through Customs, which is the first step when they hit the US. Not sure exactly what this means as I was of the understanding the cars were imported through only two ports on the east coast, Baltimore and Brunswick, GA. Since Woodcliff is the location of M-B USA, I'd guess the paperwork has been done for Customs and the car can be taken straight to the VPC for prep and delivery. Another guess is this is a streamlining process for the paperwork. Shouldn't mean anything to you. You should have the car in the next 10 days or so. The VPC will repair any damage done in shipping which you'll never know anything about, and that could take as much as a few days.
In my case there was some very slight paint damage to my car before I turned it over to the shipper following European Delivery. I couldn't tell a thing about damage even knowing where the paint was scratched, but it took an extra 4 days. There was truly no delay in delivery to me based on my expectations.

After that I will have to figure out who is going to do all paperwork with Title, Registration, Transfer License Plate and payment of MI sales tax...

At one point I was considering a Florida dealer and one in Austin, Texas, mainly for the additional discounts on price available from them. In the future I might consider again, which is why your transaction interests me.

I'd guess all the paperwork for the import and the VPC is all done in the background and your car is already rerouted on paper to your delivering dealer. That delivering dealer will do all the paperwork for delivery and licensing in your state. I'll be curious how it goes.
