My 2014 GLK 350 is on the way
My 2014 GLK 350 is on the "Sunshine Ace" which is due in to LA in 13 July.
It is Diamond Silver with Black Leather.
Now, I need to get my 2012 E350 sedan sold in the next few weeks.

I hope to see prices in the time frame you've described, since my ED date is August 26th and I assume I'll have to fulfill the payment with the US dealer at least 10 days before my trip to Germany.

On my tourist deliveries I had to pay 30 days before my pickup date.

I'm in Germany and my TENTATIVE delivery date for my U.S. spec. 2014 GLK350 is 15 July. If it is not delivered by 28 July I can cancel my order/contract and get my $1000.00 deposit back (those were the conditions I got them to agree to). Still don't have a base price. Kind of not too impressed with that whole situation especially after I tried to order a 2013 GLK in April and was told it was not longer possible but they could order a 2014 for me.

I am not in Germany, but already have not returnable ticket on hands for the ED on August 26th with $2000.00 deposit and told by my salesperson not to worry when I've asked about possible impact of Bremen factory shut down for 2 weeks in July. The delivery center in Germany twice confirmed delivery date for 2014 GLK250. I don't have a base price as well.

MBKCLUE has a factory delivery date of 15 July for a US 2014 GLK. Based on my past experience, my earliest tourist deliveries were on the date that that model was released to the US dealers. If there is any hold, I should be able to get my car, at the dealer, by 15 July.
I just called my salesman and he has not heard of any holds and that they only see that when a new model comes out. The 2014 GLK 350 is essentially identical to the 2013 exception for some option changes.

If what I read somewhere is accurate they will now be able to offer right-hand drive versions (not possible before). That may be part of the re-tooling time required for the line. Anyway, I hope they are not significant changes underneath. Don't want to get that first model year build feeling even on a smaller scale...
Now,with electric steering, it is easy to simply move the steering wheel to the other side and simply make the electrical connections rather than having the need for a separate steering mechanism.

Maybe it has something to do with the brake pedal. Also, not sure that just because it is "electric" that it does not still have a conventional column going through the firewall.

"The problem, according to Mercedes-Benz engineering sources, is a driveshaft used to operate the front wheels on four-wheel drive versions of the GLK. It is positioned such that it encroaches slightly on the right-hand-side footwell, something Weber has revealed to Autocar can’t be altered without “significant and expensive” alterations to its steel floorpan and driveline architecture."

Hard to believe they didn't engineer it "properly" from the start for all markets.

I just learned that the official date for tourist delivery on a GLK 350 is 16 July. That should also be the first day for US dealer releases.

My 2014 GLK350 is (was??) supposed to be ready for me 15 July 13. They still have not provided me an invoice and still cannot tell me the base price (but I was told I'd have them weeks ago). M-B is pathetic, in my opinion. Feels like I'm buying a Yugo. Tried to order a 2013 in April of 2013 but they no longer took orders. Told me I could order a 2014. They'll take your deposit and signature and then it's all down hill from there. What a racket. It's my first M-B experience and I'm already disgusted...

Yes, a factory order with Stuttgart pick up. I talked to the salesman the other day and he mentioned that it was built. When I asked if he was certain it was built then he changed his tune and was "pretty sure" it was already built. Sad.... When he sent the VIN a while back he wrote that it meant the build was "imminent" and had previously stated that the 15 July 13 delivery date was "tentative." Typical salesman talk.

Ask for a printout of the confirmation. That will give you all the information, including VIN and build date. When mine was built 4/21 that was sent to me and it included the delivery date. Salesmen have access to that.
