2013 GLK250 BT quoted online 10% off 46k MSRP from dealer. Too good to be true?

I contacted a dealer online (dealer has about 400 Benz cars) and responded with a 10% off 46k MSRP. Online shows only delivery miles on a 2013.

Am I right to be very suspicious? Bait and switch? High sales tactics once I walk in the door to close the deal?

Even though 2014 are due very soon and Q5 TDI has been announced, are GLK250 BT not really selling well?

Anyone have recent experiences? I haven't tried other dealerships yet

Are you looking to purchase or lease? I got a similar discount on one with $44.6K MSRP two weeks ago for a 24-mo, 12K mi/yr lease. If they offered 10% off right off the bat I'd counter for another 1-1.5K off and see what they say. They might be desperate enough to take your offer, or worst case scenario, stick with the 10% off. I think it's a pretty reasonable offer as is.

Just make sure you get everything listed out if you are leasing - term, mileage allowance, money factor, residual, selling price, cap cost reduction (if any), total out-of-pocket during signing and what's included (usually consists of 1st payment, acquisition, doc/tag fees, applicable taxes, etc.)

If it's a purchase then just the selling price and full breakdown of total out-of-pocket.

If you get all the details in writing (in email form) simply bring a copy with you and you shouldn't have to worry about them pulling a fast one on you.

All I can say about the car so far is that it's a dream to drive with great efficiency (avg. 29-30mpg so far after 300 miles so far, with 50 miles or so in bumper to bumper traffic). It eats road bumps for lunch!!! I've driven 8 brand new vehicles (ranging from a KIA to an Infiniti) in the past 6 years and none of them drove as well.

Good luck with your purchase!

I was told the Money Factor on a GLK 250 is .00245 That sounds really high. Anyone have the lease rates on these for July? This is at 15,000 miles.

10% off msrp seems too low to me. I've got almost 12% off msrp (no trade, straight purchase) on May. 14' GLK are right around the corner. I would contact at least 6 or more dealers and push from 15% off msrp for the 13'. GL

Showa - which state do you live in and did you qualify for any special incentives such as USAA, MBCA discounts etc.?

I live in Southern California. I didn't have and know of any incentives/discounts at all. I just checked their inventory online. When I found one that I liked, I sent them my offer.

I offered $426xx (included all fees but tax and license)for my GLK and one dealer took my offer.

Thanks, just trying to get a sense of realistically how low I can go when making an offer.

2013 E550, 2014 GLK 350
When we were looking we got quoted 13% off MSRP by a family friend who works at a dealer. Ended up with a 350 but a point of reference none the less.

Seems like an awesome deal! Was it a buy or a lease? Any trade involved? Any special incentives (USAA, MBCA, loyalty/conquest, etc.) you qualified for?

I got 12% off MSRP in July. no extra incentives, just straight internet quote, could not combine with my FEP incentive. North east dealer

MSRP: $43275
price before taxes/reg etc: $37886

straight purchase, no financing tricks, no trade-in. 30 miles on the car. Middle of the month.

I get the impression buyers who live in the city don't care for the diesel, simply not enough MPG advantage for city driving. Or perhaps buyers change their mind when they get the pre-paid maintenance quote vs the 350. Or could be as shallow as "250 model number is less than 350, must be inferior".. talking about typical consumer buyer

It was a buy (finance from a credit union 1.99 APR). No special incentives, first time MB customer. No trade in either.
