Roof rack Cross bars Installed

Nothing crazy but I picked up the Mercedes Cross bars. I liked the price of after market but could'nt find anything that looked as good. I have nothing to put up there just liked the the look of roof rack plus cross bars.

Thinking...Probably red out the tails to give it a 2013 look. The new tail lights are all red with no white

You'll be surprised at the effect of those cross bars on fuel mileage. I had them on a Ford Explorer I used for skiing all over the west. I experimented with them, with and without skis, and reached the conclusion they weren't worth it. Removed the bars and carried the skis inside and gained substantial benefit. If you're mainly around town it won't matter much but on the highway it does. They create drag and turbulence even as the crossbars on the Explorer were shaped like airplane wings.

I posted in another thread, but I went with the Yakima S54 Whispbar. I feel they are more aesthetically pleasing while still giving the utilitarian look, match the aluminum rails well, function with most yakima stuff, and are very quiet and purportedly have less of an issue with lower mpg, which would defeat one of the main reasons I got the GLK 250-AWD with good MPG. They do work with the moonroof as well.
