Misaligned front license plate holder

I just bought a new (second) GLK350 2013, a month after purchase when I received the drive license plate, I went to dealer (a different dealer than where I purchased) to install the license plate.
However, they discovered that:
1. The plastic license plate is broken.
2. How the plastic license plate is NOT aligned at the center of the AMG bumper as I have shown in the picture.
The plastic license plate was screwed/installed 1" to the driver side of the car from the center more than the passenger side as shown in the picture.
I am going back to the dealer where I bought the car tomorrow, don't know what I will expect yet. I hope they can replace the front AMG bumper with correct installation of the front license plate holder and align it correctly to the center. But I have doubts that they will do that.
In any case, just want to hear what you guys have to say about this situation.

5 inches from center to the passenger side and 6 inches to the driver side

5 inches from center to the passenger side

6 inches from center to driver sider

Thats done because of the pedestrian protection laws. It seems more people are injured when they step infront of a car from the passenger side. So, they move the license plate to the left to protect the idiot "texter" from having your plate number permanently impressed into their thigh as they mindlessly step off the sidewalk. Everyone knows that people would be more envious of a 3 pointed star embossed in their stomachs as a sign of true stupidity than your license number.

What you need is one of those big English license plates to cover up the mistakes the dealer made. Kind of makes you think about what kind of job they do on replacing your brakes.

just spoke with the dealer finally after leaving my car there for a day, they will replace the front bumper with a new one which I am very happy about and install the holder at the correct position "hopefully"... wait and see and find out when they actually get it done!

Thumbs up

Glad to hear the dealer will make it right.

BTW, thanks for the images, ... When I picked up my '13 250, the black plastic plate holder was in the rear cargo, I had no idea what is was. We don't use front license plates in Québec.
