2014 GLK Ordered - Pricing?

And be sure to ask online dealers and drive to different dealers. Tons of Benz dealer around Irvine, OC or LA. If you have some time to wait for the car, wait till they give you at least 10% off.
Think about this: the european delivery is already 7% off and then waive the destination charge which is $950 that's almost 2% if the car is MSRP at 50k.
You get almost 9% if you buy a 50k GLK. And dealer has other incentives like the volume of the overall car they sell... so another 1% isn't much of asking.

Seriously, how may dealerships do you have in your area? I'm in a bit of a quandary, being out in Hawaii, with only one dealership on either of two islands, but both owned by the same family. It would be nice were I to be able to pit two or three dealerships against each other.
balticgreen has several in his area and would be a good person from whom to seek advice on negotiating your price.

With a custom order, it's difficult to pit one dealer against the other.
I'm asking because I will most likely be doing the same thing in a few months, although we could just end up picking one up off the lot. There's a lot to be said for a visit to the dealership knowing that you'll be driving off in your new Mercedes at the end of that visit

You apparently haven't talked price yet and the car is already on its way. That means it will be harder since the ordering dealership is now the only dealership that has what you want or can easily get it. I guess you could refuse the car and then have another dealership try to trade for it but there are problems with that and it's risky. The dealership that ordered it will smell what's going on and they might outright refuse the trade if they are confident they'll sell it to someone else, or confident that you'll come crawling back, at which point the price will suddenly go up. Plus, did you put a deposit down with the ordering dealership and is it refundable? If you gave them non-refundable money, you'll need to add that sunk expense into your calculations of the best deal.
The other alternatives are online pricing like Edmunds and TrueCar. Many dealers will scoff at those sources though. I, myself, have found that they are sometimes accurate and sometimes definitely not accurate. My GLK that's on order, for example, I negotiated much better prices at multiple dealerships compared to what those sites said was a good price.

I also have a 2014 S550 on order and will be ordering a G63 soon, so yeah, the dealer will lose all that business not giving me a great deal.
And yes, put it on a credit card if a deposit is required. Even if everything is fine, at least get the points or cash back or whatever you get from using the card.
