Suspension Bottoming out 13 GLK 4matic
Anyone experience the front suspension bottoming out (hitting the spring pads I assume) on normal roads that have a series of frost heaves? Occurs on the side loaded with driver only or both sides with the passenger. No other load in the car.
To me this is either a fault or a design flaw. I have not checked for shock leaks yet.
I am not referring to hitting a pothole. We have standard 19" wheels and Conti tires the car came with. About 8k miles. I don't recall this happening with the 17" winter wheels and the Scorpion Snow and Ice. (This bottoming does not occur with the G500 or the Cl55 in the same stretch of road.)
How should we proceed to have this fault corrected by the dealer? MB springs are notoriously variable in quality and a MB friend says they replace more C class springs than any other series...(The GLK shares the C class platform in many respects as you know.)
