I wish I had a pic to attach but we only went down to view our car, we have not picked it up yet. The connector is installed at the dealership after delivery the one we saw is approx 5/8 " around and was installed in the lower bumper area of the passenger side it had a small flip up door to access the actual connections when the door is closed you would most likely never notice it unless you were looking. We pick our car up on the 19th but I'm sure someone else will post a picture before we get ours ... If not I will post when we get ours, I do think it looks well thought out...

I asked dealer about the block heater cable. He said it is about $50.00.

Gosh, even on our 06 smart CDI they included the cable. It was something similar - had to screw it on. Looked well engineered, but not such a good idea really. Don't know how many times I have backed out of garage forgetting that my 300D was plugged in. Luckily 3 prong plugs disconnect themselves!

Block Heater cord scheduled to go in with the installation of the winters, so will let you know how that all works out.

BTW, my GLK is a Canadian 2014 model.
Inquiring minds would like to know, can you trace the cable back to the engine? If so, can you locate the block heater itself on the engine? Is it possible to post a picture?

prepaid maintenace or not

my glk250 is due for first service in 20 days
not sure how much the A service then B service would cost
does any member think it is better to buy the prepaid for $1749 for 4 year service prepaid is worth the price?

You're asking a future costs kind of question. It's probably certain that costs will increase. If you're pretty sure that you are going to keep the car and drive it a lot during the 4 years, then it may be a good bet to take.

For myself, I bought it and now I'll find out about the possible future payoff.

Mike
