Enjoyed the song lyrics. Surely Elvis would understand.

The fix was available in the second half of October so yours might have been built before the fix but most likely it received the fix at the port when it came into the States. I don't recall hearing about any AdBlue problems from people with October builds. I think all the problems were August and September builds. Mine was built October 25 and I haven't had problems.
The service accepted the car right away and said there was an issue with the AdBlue system. The solution was to "calibrate the AdBlue system" and do whatever the computer told them to do. I guess nowadays there is no human decision making involved.
I told them about a software update, but they said there wasn't anything extra to do at the moment.
I hope the CEL/AdBlue warning doesn't show up again!

Your issue may have been something quite different. There was an engine module update in December which they applied to my 2014, just because I had car in for block heater cable install. But tech said update was not specific to the adBlue problem.
I read the whole 10+ pages of this TOPIC (Add-blue error) and very confused
.....So not sure what is my fate!!!I have just got this New Build ( am told Nov built) and yet I somehow dint get to read this topic ! I am bit shocked and very surprised that MB seems to have taken such a 'slack' attitude towards these what I would call "minor" issues ( considering tis also happen on EU also).
I am and have been very comfortable with DISEAL CAR(s) and this nothing new to me as I grew up on a large farm with most all things Diesel engine.!
I have yet to drive my GLK250 to a ppoint where I would need a refill - except that I will be going on a 3000 mile trip later in week. SO IT SHOULD BE VERY interesting as I will be CANADAIAN side for a lots of these tour! SO it will nice to see how their ULSD etc .... and how AD-blue acts up !@!
My OTHER SUPRISE with this car is there IS NO SPARE TYRE !!! NOT EVEN A DONUT NOR EVEN A COMPRESSOR NOR EVEN A TYRE SEALEAR !!!!

seems crazy to when I am going to lots of sparsely populated regions of NORTH AMERICA !!! so am opting to buy a wheel+ tire add to back( yes less luggage space ,,
Will keep everyone posted >>> if and whatever happens relating to these topic
Thanks
Mike
I hope your road trip is uneventful. In my GLK, (purchased in Canada), I also have no spare tire, but it did come equipped with a compressor and some liquid rubber for tire repair. I was led to believe that this was standard equipment. My salesman showed all of this to me as part of the delivery orientation.

A brief summary of conversations with MB USA I had this afternoon....
CSManager > well the "cars handbook in Generic" ... so not model specific and all things apply to YOU !!
ME >,,mmmm , I am not sure if you trying to tell me that OWNERS MANUAL / CAR HANDBOOK as you refer to it as - is FAKE or WRONG !!! ... can you please email me this and anything else you have on the "OWNERS MANUAL" for my GLK that I got 2 days ago ??
CSM .. > nope our policy is not to EMAIL CUSTOMERS - we just provide service !
ME ..> so where do I stand with my issue(s) . a) no spare tire when told twice ( and once in writing there will be a do-nut and compressor) and b) AD_BLUE issues documented with various USERS from three DIFFERENT CONTINENET ( ASIA+ AMERICANS+ EU) is there a FIX or has it been fixed @ factory?
CSM.....> ok I got enough notes on the matter now - let me contact a few peps and we call you back !!
Me >>> so what I do in mean time ??
CLCIK CLICK <<<<<<< ended call>>>
Spare Tire
The GLK350s I had looked at had a compact collapsible Vredestein spare (as described in manual). I was surprised to find the GLK250 did not have one.
At least you have MOE tires (runflat capable for 20 miles at 50mph). In Canada we get standard all weather tires. They do give us a compressor and some gunk. And we all have Roadside Assistance.
My friend and I bought collapsible spare wheels that came off wrecked GLK350s. Not cheap but they are only 21/22" diameter when deflated and will tuck in behind either of the front seats. Other option was to get a hitch mounted bracket and carry a full size spare. Cargo space is not too big, so didn't want a wheel in there.
ADBLUE
The AdBlue problem was disappointing. It had not happened on 2013s, so that was the other big surprise on the 2014s. I think they have it solved.
The manual is so generic, it is kinda useless. They could easily produce an electronic version specific to our cars. I think I read somewhere that Kia provides a tablet with the manual on it!
I am also still on first tank. But it does seem like a solid car. I think (hope?) we will grow to love our gLk250s!

The compressor is hard to spot but is under the rear deck right next to the tools and on the inside of the passenger compartment but right next to the sealant. That's standard equipment for US cars. If it's not there I'll bet Mercedes Benz will give the to you. Seek and ye shall find!
By now, the production line should be updated and certainly any cars that didn't get the fix on the production line would have received it during the processing that happens at the port upon entering the US/Canada.

You should have a printed manual that came with the car. If you want an electronic version, you can download it from mbusa.com. It is a PDF version of the same printed manual you received with the car; it is not customized to your car.

Although I do have a PDF of my GLK manual on my iPad, I want a paper manual in the car. Paper manuals don't have batteries that are dead when you need to look up something. Paper manuals also aren't a target for theft. Even if you don't keep the tablet in the glovebox, thieves that know which cars come with tablets don't know that it's not in there until AFTER they've busted your window.
and also took car back to dealer after I couldn't find anything " I got told to call MB USA - they build the cars we just do delivery"!!
Seems "Baltic Green" has had lots of great positive experience's with MB USA or maybe just a guy with two jobs !
Me I have nothing bad to say about MB - just this car dealer could never get any 'straight answers' - on to my 2nd MB diesel - ML Series never had any issues - my kids still drive it school daily !

Equus is the first luxury car to have an available iPad® app to help you understand and maintain your vehicle. The simple Apple interface enables owners with an iPad® to view the Owner’s Manual that includes interactive demo videos, 360-degree images, and a quick reference guide to help you learn everything from the Vehicle Stability Management system to how to use the supervision cluster. You can also use the Dealer Locator to find the nearest Authorized Equus Dealer and schedule all your routine maintenance via this convenient downloadable iPad® app.
MB does have an on-line GLK manual that sort of also does that, but it is for Euro version.
ugh
UPDATE: Just got my truck back from the dealership. They said it was a different code that tripped the CEL. A "CDI Module" needed a software update.
This is very upsetting, that anytime this vehicle needs a software update it will go into a 10 start count down. I bought this vehicle for dependability and hopefully getting 200k+ miles out of it traveling for work. I talked to a service manager, and expressed if a solution can not be found, I will be returning the vehicle.

remaining, adblue icon and check engine light. Dealer says it's fixed, rented
me a loaner but it does make you nervous it could happen again on our
trip to Florida. traded our Buick Enclave because of engine warning light
never thought it would happen with a MB.
