The First? 22x9 / 22x10.5 Staggered Vossen Setup

So I ditched the square 22x9 Black / Machine Vossen CV3s and decided to push the envelope on an aggressive staggered setup. I've searched all over trying to find specs and wheel info and other than the Brabus GLK (21" staggered) and MrJLT's GLK (20x10 square) there isn't anything else out there that exist. Here are the specs for anyone interested:

22x9 ET 32 w/ 245/30ZR22 Pirelli P-Zero Nero
22x10.5 ET 42 w/ 285/25ZR22 Pirelli P-Zero Nero

I'm actually planning to lower it this go around (H&R Sports) to close some of the wheel gap. Everything should fit nicely once complete. I also decided to remove the aluminum steps and grille black-out to give it a cleaner look with the Silver / Machine wheels. On to the pics:

nice, looks like its gonna be a rough ride.

i'd probably go with a fatter tire setup if I went to 22s.

Sick ride. Love those wide threads. Are those rims/tires pass the fenders? Could you take a straight shot? I'm thinking of getting just a bit larger wheels but want to get that beefy tire setup look, like on my X5 50i

Yes I contemplated going with beefier tires but really couldn't find a combo I liked. 265/30 front would be ideal but nothing in the rear compares. To be equivalent you have to go 255/35 front and 295/30 and I didn't think that would clear with the drop (plus it’s about 3% larger overall diameter if I remember right and didn't want to push it that far).

The previous owner upgraded to run flats on the factory 20" AMG wheels so comparatively to at least what I'm used to it rides very similar now, if not smoother. Run flats are rough no matter the size.

The fronts are just a hair or so outside the fenders, the rears are definitely way outside the fenders. I’ll snap some pics this evening showing the position of the wheel/tire in relation to the fender. (but only if you buy my steps so it will fund my lowering adventure lol)

I made sure to take the pic where the fender is perfectly parellel so you can see exactly how far they are beyond the fender

Nice, thanks for doing that, Front looks good for me, but the rears may be a bit much for what I am looking for. How much space you got on the inside? I would like to go 20's with a 315 rear if possible. What you doing with your stock rims?

I highly doubt you're gonna be able to squeeze a 315 in there if you don't like where mine is outside the fender

Oh man I appreciate you taking the time to do the measurements and pictures for me.

Looks like about 1.75 clearance. Yep looks like I may not have the space to fit 315's. I guess I'll go safe. Good thing winter is around the corner for me and my current stocks has almost new tires, I don't have to worry about wheels for a few more months, but a little antsy to change up the look.

Well when I was doing my usual new vehicle mod research I couldn't find ANYTHING on the GLK so I want to share / post as much as possible for other interested modders (very few here)....just now read your sig and mods, how are the H&Rs? Install easy? From pics I see online the install looks to easy to be true lol also what do mean "brushed aluminum skid plates"? You just do the chrome ones brushed?...my turn for questions and pic request lol

I have the H&R's but have not done the install yet. I was waiting to do it when I get wheels.
I ordered the skid plate and the valance from Ebay, since mine did not come with them. Their descripsion says brushed, those are on the way.

I think the spring install should be easy, I have not looked into it. I am guessing it would be the same as when I put H&R coilovers on my w204 c300.
