NE1 running 245/45R20 ? (eg., Michelin MXV4)
Anyone using 245/45R20 tires on stock rims? There are a lot of tire choices in this size (vs. the stock 235/45R20 size), including Michelin's all-season MXV4 with a tread wear rating of 620 A A. Looks to me like these should fit the stock rims without clearance problems and only a 1% effect on speedometer reading.

Michelin Tires
These seem to be very good tires. OEM on our Honda. We are impressed with the ride quality and lack of noise. Ours only has about 12k miles, but they should last a long while.

I used 245/45R20 General G-MAX AS-03 on my GLK. -UTQG rating = 480 Cost=$180/tire
I have them for 1 year now. Love them!
At almost 1/2 price of most brands & load rating is nearly 2k lbs.

In last paragraph of this post, there is an excerpt from on-line GLK manual.

For those of you using non MO or MOE tires, any concerns? My dealer tells me that on some models they have seen excessive wear on aftermarket tires not suited to the car's suspension.

Sounds like your dealer is trying to get you to buy the tires from them with a considerable markup, especially for non MO tires.

He explained that MBCanada now buy through a national buying group and as a result, prices have come down. Same for winter mats - less than Weathertec. It's worth checking with your dealer for some things.
Our small dealership has their own tire installation and balancing - a $30k Hunter machine! Cost of installation is quite high ($40/tire, I think), but no more than other local tire companies. Local garage may do it cheaper, but not with same equipment.
What he was telling me about MO/MOE tires is same as MB say in their literature. Not surprising I guess. That is why I was asking whether 20in tires have MO or MOE on sidewalls. Someone said that the Mercedes specific MOE tires were not available in 20in size.

Actually, I recent shopped around for a set of tires for another car we own, and other than buying from on-line discounter and having to have a small service station install, the dealer had the best installed prices in town.

Thought I'd just find out how much they'd want for a 20" winter tire (Pirelli), so I followed the series of pages to land on my dealer in Ottawa.... HEHEH! A Whopping $860. per tire, or $3440 for 4 tires(no wheels), and then don't forget the taxman!!! heheh!
Now, I know it's a 20"... rare... but $860 per tire!!!! I'll be honest, my winters are 17" Blizzaks shoed on alloys from tirerack, about $1300, wheels & tires for all four corners... Blizzaks are shoed on all our vehicles, and very happy with them
$860. a tire
I thought I'd check 17" rubber... $400 >$440. per tire

GLK tires
Had dealer install Michelin MXV-4 @ delivery of my 2013 GLK350. They charged me $19 & they kept the Conti's. GREAT tires. Very quiet and great ride! Strongly recommend.
